AMAZING! The best Mexican food in Atlanta hands down. Order the crab enchiladas! Everything is authentic Mexican from staff to menu etc. only piece of advice either make reservations or prepare to wait 30 minutes from 5pm-7pm. Try to sit down stairs. I’m very picky when it comes to Mexican food and this place is the best! Great customer service and great staff!!

The best Mexican Food in Atlanta
You have to be looking intentionally for this establishment … it is out of the way, and in a part of town no one goes (UNLESS THEY ARE LOOKING FOR MEXICAN FOOD!!). The food is great, the hospitality better, the margaritas are large, and it is well worth the wait. No reservations, long lines of satisfied customers. Parking is a pain; use the lot across the street. But, bring a book (or friends with whom to talk) and wait … you will be glad you did!
The review says that I was there in August 2019, but I visit EVERY single time that I am in Atlanta over the past 20 years … it is that good.

Great place for dinner
Been to this place a bunch and it is always good. Service is always good but if I do have a complaint, its the bar. The bartender who was working was not friendly right away. There is not much room and its not clear where the best place to order. Frankly I would have a cocktail waitress outside so they could ring in drinks and bring them to the people instead of all the people fighting for real estate in a small bar. But the food is always good, the atmosphere is always great. I will continue to eat here as long as possible.

This is a must visit if you are looking for great Mexican food. It’s a small building in Atlanta, when you walk in you get greeted by amazing smells that makes you want to try everything. The tacos were amazing. The Carne Asada was flavorful and perfectly cooked, the grilled chicken has flavor you cant describe and the shredded chicken was packed full of great toppings and flavor. You will not be disappointed. If you are looking for a starter get the guacamole dip.

Best Latin american food in atlanta….seriously! Everytime I go here I am BLOWN AWAY. Staff is very friendly. The place is usually packed, but the service is always excellent. They have great vegan/vegetarian selections and huge portions. The best yellow rice in the whole southeast. I get the huevos mexicanos or the holy tacos (fried avocado and mashed potatoes omg)
Complimentary chips and salsa. I usually get the guacamole also, they sprinkle cheese on top so take note if you dont do dairy.
I would eat here every day if I had the means….seriously.

This is 100% my favorite Mexican restaurant in Atlanta! If you go on a Friday night, there will be a wait but it’s worth it. Any other time I’ve gone there is no wait. It’s authentic, delicious and cheap. I always order the queso and a chicken quesadilla and have plenty of left overs. The margaritas are delicious and the staff is great!

Dropped in for a late dinner on a very busy Friday night. There was about a 35 minute wait to be seated; the restaurant was packed. Complimentary chips and salsa preceded our entrees. The salsa was very good; we finished of two servings of it! We ordered Lobster Quesadilla and Fish Tacos with rice (hold the black beans). Both were delish. Unfortunately, forgot to take entree pics before digging in – sorry. This is one of ATL’s best Mexican Restaurants!

Nuevo Laredo is one of our favorites. It is always busy, and with good reason. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Some of our favorites are the carne asada tacos, fajitas, and steak diablo. The salsa is always fresh and the margaritas are strong! Definitely worth the wait!

Tastes just like my Mexican grandmother made it. That is, if I had one. My point is that the foot was so authentically good and made with love. The chicken mole enchiladas were like a fiesta in my mouth. The frozen mango margarita made my soul sing and the salsa was so fresh, like it came straight from the garden. Nuevo Laredo is by far my favorite mexican spot hands down. The food, friendly people along with the cozy atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. Que rico!!!

Not typical Tex Mex, it’s better, more like Mex with a Central AM cuisine mix. Get the Cadillac Margarita and Lyft and do not drive, it only takes one. The Tamales are awesome, the Lobster Taco maybe the best in the state. It’s crowded with local regs, go early, stay late, get lit, have joy, with the delicious meal and drink your gonna wanna roll to the door.

Has always been the most popular Mexican restaurant in Atlanta. This quirky, unapologetic real Mexican restaurant serves more Mexican food than Tex-Mex which is a good thing. It’s one of the few places you can find anything with a real mole sauce. Food is good. Atmosphere is festive and friendly. Expect a 45 min wait for a table during peak dinner times

This was an amazing experience. The people at this restaurant are the nicest people. The food was spectacular. It came out so quickly it was as if you blink and your food was out. We also had a pitcher of margaritas and that too was amazing. Sad to say that I will be going home and won’t be able to get this food at home. My sister eyes were even teary from being overjoyed. Needless to say we released a lot of endorphins. So worth the 45 min wait.

There is a reason NLC constantly has a wait no matter the time of day! Margarita lovers – NLC’s are strong and tasty so make sure to order one or three! As a vegetarian, my meal options are typically limited and boring when it comes to Tex-mex or Mexican fare. Not here! Whether you are a vegetarian or meat lover the Holy Tacos are a must! It doesn’t say on the menu but you can order these a la carte.
This is what my wife did because she had had the steak Diablo tacos as her entree. NLC may not be the right choice if you are seeking a quiet, intimate meal. Save that meal elsewhere, but come here for a great night of authentic food, warm ambiance, and satisfying adult beverages!

Great local restaurant that has stayed the same throughout the years despite a changing neighborhood. While you should be prepared to wait (I do not think I have ever arrived and been seated immediately), the food is definitely worth it. And while you are waiting you can hang out at the small bar or on the patio outside and enjoy a cold beverage. I am partial to the chicken mole, which is enough for me to get two meals out of, but everything I have ever eaten here has been excellent. If you cannot find parking in the small lot in front, there is ample parking across the street.

I recommend everything – I especially enjoy the fantastic, over the top staff. Very knowledgeable about the menu for any questions, efficient and friendly. We have been going here for years because of the staff and the food.
So many food options and each one is delicious. Huge plates for dinners. There’s something for everyone. (Order the grilled chicken quesadilla for the picky eaters or children. Only chicken and cheese, and oh so good.) The queso is my favorite, and the salsa is the first I’ve liked. Very fresh.
If you go at night, be prepared for a wait as it can be busy but it’s worth it!

Nuevo Laredo Cantina has delicious. Authentic Mexican Food. Salsa is delicious but super hot and spicy and they don’t offer a mild salsa for persons like myself with stomach issues who can’t eat spice. When you go ask for waitress Kim her service is excellent.

Love this place…hadn’t been in 20+ years and it was as good as I remember it being way back then. The mole sauce is incredible. Great service, too.

Authentic Mexican food. A very low profile place but amazing food. An amazing vibe and people seem to love this place. Our first visit here. We got there around 8 pm on a Thursday and had to wait almost 45 minutes for a seat. Be prepared to wait to be seated. It is easy to wait it out as you can pickup some amazing cocktails and wait in the patio. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for authentic Mexican food.
