To simply call this food Mexican conjures up an unfair stereo type of cuisine. The menu sampling is broad and not limited to usual offerings. Of course there is guacamole but it is some of the best I’ve tasted. Two different ceviche grace the menu, smoked trout was my pick. And the humble goat street taco is superb.Flavors are bold and flavorful with a dose of spice the is savory but bright.I look forward to a quick return prior to my trip’s end..

Great atmosphere. Wonderful waiter who recommended the in season peach guacamole and the calamari street tacos (fabulous). He also let us cancel an extra entree (skirt or flank steak which I think would have been fantastic) after we saw how much food was on the table with those first 2 dishes. Excellent food, excellent place, will come back. Make reservations…fills up quick on Friday night!

We always visit this restaurant when in downtown Atlanta. Everything is excellent! Small plates, tacos, entrees, tequila selection! We especially love the Chihuahua cheese, be sure to chop it up when it arrives and either wrap in tortillas, or just dip your chips in. If you have a party over three, order at two (or you will be fighting over who gets to lick the bowl)! Actually, you can’t lick the bowl, because it comes in one of those heavy, flaming hot stone bowls! It’s usually packed when we go, so definitely recommend a reservation if you are visiting during a busy time. Their servers are very friendly, and knowledgeable about the tequila. Speaking of tequila, on our most recent visit we did small plates and saved room for dessert: Tequila custard tart. Yes.

I went here for lunch during an offsite work event. I ordered the fried avocado tacos and my colleague ordered the pork tacos, and we swapped one taco each. Next time, I will eat all the fried avocado tacos–they were so so good! The service, prices, and ambiance were all great, too!

I never leave reviews but this was the best meal I’ve had in a long time. The service was fast and friendly, but not pressing, the server knew the menu well and made great suggestions and the signature lamb tacos were incredible. So, so good. Try it, you’ll be glad you did.

Wow! This Mexican restaurant is amazing! Right when I walked in, I could tell it was going to be good. Sunday night and they were pretty busy, but only had to wait about 10 mins for a table. Hostesses were super sweet, and our server was awesome and very accommodating. Our drinks were also full and he checked on us the appropriate amount of times (if that makes sense lol). The restaurant is more high end Mexican, and the chefs really know what they’re doing!
My friends and I ordered the guacamole and salsa tasting, all of which were so good and came with tortilla chips and plantain chips. Together we ordered the shrimp tacos, the octopus, and the special of the night, Mahi Mahi tacos – YUM! Everything was soooo delicious. The octopus was a small portion, but cooked perfectly. The shrimp tacos had a delicious seasoning and 3 sauces to pair with it. The Mahi Mahi tacos were dynamite. Filled with tons of fresh grilled Mahi Mahi and lighter on the toppings which is how a good taco is made.
Overall, wonderful experience and will definitely come back!

Make Reservations! So good that I came here twice in one week! Ordered the Whole Hog Carnitas, Fried Chihuahua Cheese, Pork Pibil Tamale and Esquites (corn dish) Simply amazing. The chef was featured on Beat Bobby Flay, They are known for their tamale’s and they did not disappoint! The Fried cheese is seriously the best thing ever. A giant cheese curd swimming in green chili sauce. Comes out piping hot with tortillas. The Esquites was corn and sauce and cheese. Super amazing. I would come here over and over again.

We split the salsa trio which was also really tasty. It comes with traditional chips as well as plantains and a red, green, and mole colored salsa. They were all good, but the green and mole ones were especially unique and flavorful. My wife got the scallops and I had the cauliflower chilaquilles. Both entrees had well developed flavor profiles and were very filling.

Came here for a dinner with colleagues. We sat in the atrium area, which was a great experience. Good guacamole and appetizers—we were filling up long before the entrees arrived! I had the tacos and they were amazing. Also, if you like hot sauce, Alma has some of the spiciest I have ever tasted—there are four different kinds and you should have only a tiny taste of the two hottest ones before you put it on your food. Dessert was probably the weakest part of dinner but wasn’t bad at all. I’d definitely go here again!

My sister and I drove 10 hours to Downtown ATL and stopped at this restaurant because we were extremely hungry. We asked our amazing server, Ashley, for suggestions and she told us exactly what we needed from the drinks, to the starters to the main entree. She was attentive and extremely personable. Her service made our first-time experience special, we might just return once more before we leave. Thank you Ashley! Visit this place and get the lamb tacos, they were great!

I’m not over fond of Mexican food but I have to say this about this establishment. The service was 2nd to none. The ambiance of the place is very nice and welcoming. The food I had was like a very chunky seafood stew that was green in color. It looked good and tasted even better.
I don’t think I ate normal Mexican looking food but I enjoyed all aspects of my experience. I’d probably go again.

Amazing. We were ably served over a busy lunchtime and we were steered expertly through the menu with comments about each dish. There was an oversight made with my wife’s salad which was corrected immediately without any fuss. Unfortunately I can’t remember our servers name but he also gave us local information which was invaluable. This, and great food, why wouldn’t you give 5 stars!!

Seriously some of the best Mexican food I’ve had. Alex was amazing and provided fantastic recommendations; between the pineapple guacamole, white shrimp tacos, and great desserts, it really hits the spot for modern and unique Mexican. The El Classico and the orange margaritas are fantastic!

Do yourself a favor. Take time to visit this amazing establishment. From the cocktails to the food, service and atmosphere, this is literally the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. Wish there were more stars I could give! A+ (ALSO, VERY GLUTEN FRIENDLY WHICH WAS AMAZING!)

This place came highly recommended by our Airbnb proprietor and she was dead on. Great atmosphere and delicious food. Part of the restaurant spills out into this beautiful atrium for the large office building and Ritz Carlton that is next door. It was a beautiful spot to sit for a late dinner. You must try the 3 guacamole and 3 salsa appetizer sampler. Served with fresh made tortilla and plantain chips, we thought about going back the next night just for this. We all went with the cheaper dinner option which was the tacos. Not sure what they’re doing to their fish tacos but they were by far the best with all the others being very good. Very kind and helpful server.

WOW!! The food was delicious! Our family ordered the salsa and guac tester so we were able to try all of their salsas and guacs. Our personal favorites were the roasted pineapple guacamole, strawberry chamoy guacamole and the fire roasted salsa. I had the steak street tacos which were to die for and my mom and sister had the fish tacos which they also loved. Not only was the food delicious but the service was OUTSTANDING! Highly recommend eating here!

While in Atlanta for a conference I had heard from staff at the hotel where I was staying that this was a delicious spot for dinner and boy were they right! The Barbacoa was amazingly tasty! The Esquites was traditional and delicious! Service was attentive without being pushy! Wonderful meal all around! I will definitely return if in Atlanta again! Outstanding chips and salsa, great chicken tacos. Service by Jordan was also top notch. Will be back next time in town.

Excellent! Good drink recommendations from the bartenders, very friendly staff, amazing options for dishes and when I wasn’t sure if a dish would be too spicy, my waiter brought me a sample of the sauce so I could decide. Awesome service, hope to return really soon

Crazy, crazy good. Our waiter was crazy good… he nailed it with suggesting the Fried Chihuahua Cheese… it has the wrong name for the dish, it should be called Brick of queso deep fried in a vat of boiling salsa verde, from heaven. The White shrimp tacos with a base of delicious corn called esquites was bombdelicious! Did I mention the brick of queso, I will Be Back! It will turn into a pilgrimage!

Had a business dinner and was gladly surprised by the menu offering, with authentic dishes such as tlayudas, a cochinita pibil tamal (very good), grilled octopus, esquite, frijoles charros, etc. A worthy stop when in Atlanta. Excellent service, although a little too loud. The staff treat you like royalty. Definitely try the fried cheese. Share lots of small plates so you get to taste more of this authentic Mexican restaurant. Best margaritas you’ll ever drink.

OMG yum. All I can say is GET THE FRIED CHEESE! Its delicious. Our waiter was amazing and super friendly. It was our first time in and ordered way too much food and didn’t have room for dessert so he packed our food up for us and tossed in some dessert so we would definitely be back if ever in the area. kudos.

One of the best experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. When we arrived, someone had canceled so we didn’t have to wait an hour and a half. When we got to our table, we waited maybe a couple minutes before our waitress came to serve us (which was completely fine because we were unfamiliar with their menu). Because of this “wait,” they brought us an app on the house and our waitress Melissa was one of the kindest individuals I have met. Actually, the hostess, busgirl and manager were all wonderful people that all had stopped by the table to ask how things were going. Again, great experience. Felt cared for and the food was a knockout. Their tacos are great.

Absolutely fantastic food and service. The Mexican staples are all here, but the flavor experience of trying new and unique ingredients provided a terrific new outlook on Mexican food for me. My waiter Haki was superb; he knew the menu inside and out and looked for any way to improve my experience. I will return here any time I visit Atlanta. It’s that good.

I walked in the front and sat at the bar. The bartender greeted me right away even though they were super busy. I ordered the Chicken Mole and the Charros Beans. The mole was beautiful, with a touch of chocolate and rich with peppers. It covered the juicy white meat chicken breast. The chicken had the skin on, and added just the right amount of flavor. All the bones were removed except for a small part of the wing. It sat on a bed of mashed plantains. It was such a pleasant change, over chips or potatoes. It went perfectly with the sweetness of the mole. The Charros Beans had chunks of fresh tomatoes, salty pork and jalapeno. They were also amazing. It is clear the chef cares about the food and is willing to try things that make the meal super interesting.
