In 1961, Eason Shumake and Jerry Shumake, the Son and Grandson of J.L. Shumake, began the Shumake Furniture Company at its present location on 6th Ave SE.

Now in its 4th generation, Shumake Furniture continues to be a leader in commercial and residential design and is well known for its community service.

Shumake Furniture is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9:00 am until 5:30 pm. We will be closed on Wednesday and Sunday.

I bought a rocker glider for my nursery from Shumake. They made the process of buying and delivering so easy! I had found the chair I wanted from a La-Z-Boy store in Birmingham and they were asking double what I paid at Shumake. Shumake unfortunately didn’t have the model in store but I was able to order it in the fabric and color that I wanted. And the chair came sooner than they estimated. I will always get my La-Z-Boy furniture from Shumake from now on.
