Established in 1895, Huntsville Hospital is a community-based, not-for-profit hospital located in Madison County, Alabama. The hospital has been volunteer-led and community-owned since its founding and is governed today by the 11-member Health Care Authority of the City of Huntsville.

Under the leadership of CEO Jeff Samz, Huntsville Hospital Health System has grown to include hospitals in Huntsville, Madison, Athens, Decatur, Boaz, Guntersville, Fort Payne, Moulton, Red Bay, Sheffield and Scottsboro, Alabama, as well as Fayetteville, Tennessee. With 19,500 employees caring for more than 136,000 inpatients and 382,000 emergency patients each year, the System is one of the region’s largest employers and contributes more than $4.2 billion annually to the North Alabama economy.
