After 23 of exposure to the auto industry Lynn Hurst decided to open his own towing company. On January 16, 1987 Hurst Wrecker Service was founded. Two years later it was incorporated into Hurst Towing & Recovery. The company started out with two trucks, one belonging to Lynn and the other to his father Gilbert. The company grew for the next 12 years and soon became too large for the original location on Hwy 31. Lynn then decided to purchase a larger piece of property on Carson Road in Fultondale Industrial Park. The company is still located there today. In 2013 Hurst Towing expanded to Hayden, AL to serve the families and businesses of Blount County.

Hurst Towing Currently has 10 Tow Trucks, a Landoll Trailer, and an Accident Response Trailer. It currently employees 13 drivers, two office workers, and two night and weekend dispatchers.

I just had really great service from Hurst. A brake caliper came loose on my wheel and was making a thumping noise. They towed me within an hour to a local repair shop who is doing the work. I believe the tow driver was named Merrit. Happened just north of Birmingham.

These are a great group of guys! I had tow tow a tractor and trailer to Birmingham to get repaired and I had to find a spot to drop the trailer off while the truck got repaired all the truck stops was full and I called them and they had a spot for the trailer they went above and beyond to help me when I got there very friendly and professional group of people!!!!
