Dr. J. Steven Maddox

Dr. Stephen Maddox is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He holds a Lifetime Certificate, and he also participates in the Maintenance of Certification-Dermatology program sponsored by the board for continuing medical education. He is a native of Alabama receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama School of Medicine.

After completing his residency in dermatology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock in 1983, he joined in practice Dr. Hugh B. Praytor, the founding physician of Dermatology Associates of Montgomery. They are both active in teaching medical students and residents. The practice has participated in clinical trials.

Dr. Maddox is published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a member of the American Medical Association, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, the Southern Medical Association, and the Alabama Dermatological Society. He is a Clinical Associate Professor with the University of Alabama Health Center Montgomery.
