Welcome to Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market, voted Best Florist in Birmingham by Birmingham Magazine and The Birmingham News. We have been a leading florist in the greater Birmingham area. Dorothy Sarris McDaniel is the founder and proprietor of Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market in Birmingham, Alabama. Dorothy is a veteran public speaker and educator on the topic of flower arranging. She has been a guest demonstrator for Macy’s and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Dorothy holds degrees in criminology and social work. She has made her career in floral design for over 30 years. Although flowers are her life’s work, Dorothy finds time to pursue her other passions: fly fishing, upland bird hunting, travel, opera, and reading. These outside interests not only enrich her life but make her an even more engaging public personality.

A delightful market that also has decorative/gift items and a very nice staff. If you need something special, they care and can do better than you can with a load flowers from Trader Joes…if YOU care.

Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market has been a favorite of mine since before “Flower Market” added. Starting in the late 70s her beautiful floral work attracted the attention of all. And Dorothy McDaniel could do it all: simple bouquets to elaborate arrangements, special designs for weddings and other events, including corporate events, rehearsal dinners, anniversary parties, bar and bat mitzvahs, graduations, charity galas. Her talent, creativity, and business sense brought well deserved success. Now in her third location, I think, a visit at Christmas is magical and a visit any other time holds all sorts of floral and gift ideas and treats. A visit this week brought another reason to compliment Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market. I went with an unusual purpose and request that was not going bring a big order or sale. However, the kindness, attention and help I received from her associates/designers were exceptional and another reason to keep going there.

Dorothy McDaniel made our reception at the ballroom at The Club beautiful! That in itself is reason enough to use her, services but Dorothy McDaniel personally made sure that every detail was perfect. She helped us through the entire process and was availabe to answer questions every time we called. I highly recommend Dorothy McDaniel and her team

Dorothy Mc Daniel’s Flower Market provided floral and design services for my son’s rehearsal dinner. I feel like everyone knows how amazing Dorothy and her team are, but I just had to leave a review! From the invitation, linens, florals, and every other small detail….Dorothy and her team walked me through the process. Everything was perfect!

I’m thankful that I have a wonderful husband that gives me flowers every year. He uses other floral companies but Dorothy McDaniel is head and shoulders the best of them all. This arrangement was done for my birthday by Elizabeth. She did a FANTASTIC JOB!! Thank you Dorothy McDaniel!!! Please overlook the items in the background
