Decatur Dermatology, PC is the dermatology practice of Samantha Wyatt, MD and is focused on the medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the skin. The office is located at 620 Walnut St NE, (old “Rankin Building”). The practice hours are from 8 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm Monday through Thursday. Their focus is on the medical and surgical treatments of skin diseases, with a background ranging from care of elderly patients to the special skin needs of children. Every member of their team is committed to treating their patients with the care and respect that all people deserve.

Dr. Wyatt is an Alabama native, having grown up in Ozark. She completed her Dermatology Residency and Internal Medicine Internship at Stanford University Hospital and Clinics in Palo Alto, California. As part of her training, she learned the latest techniques in treating skin diseases, ranging from the use of biologics, new generation pharmaceuticals, advanced surgical techniques, to laser technology. Prior to her residency at Stanford, she attended medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine at UAB, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She attended Florida State University where she earned a BS in Biology.

Dr. Wyatt is the best dermatologist in north Alabama. She is brilliant at diagnosing melanoma. Reviews that focus on office staff or anything else but her competency are irrelevant, in my opinion. If you want the best eyes looking at possible cancerous lesions, her gift of recognizing concerning discolorations is outstanding.

I went to this office as a new patient on the recommendation of a friend. Dr Wyatt and her assistant that I had were very kind and friendly. Dr Wyatt was very knowledgeable and comprehensively addressed my concerns. However, I am giving a 3-star review due to my experience with the front desk staff. I manage the front office of a dental practice and I would be embarrassed if we communicated with patients this way. I stood at the desk to check in for a very long time while the receptionist faced me but spoke to a patient behind her, never making eye-contact with me. She never acknowledged I was standing in front of her and even after the other patient left, she kept typing without addressing me until I finally asked if she wanted to take my name. The interaction was short, indifferent, and I certainly didn’t feel welcomed to be there. I believe eye contact and a greeting go a very long way, even when you are multitasking and busy.
