I had an appointment with Miss Allie, when I normally see Dr. Joiner. After reading a couple of negative reviews about Allie, I was nervous to go and considered rescheduling with Joiner when available. The negative reviews were the complete opposite of my experience. Miss Allie was the pinnacle of being personable, knowledgeable, sympathetic and kind. She quickly put my worries at ease. She did the exam portion in a way that any woman would be as comfortable as you can be in that uncomfortable situation. She explained the issue and treatment that left no questions. The appointment never felt rushed. I never felt like a bother for asking for help. The whole thing went as well as it could go.
For those complaining about wait times or having to reschedule because the doctor was not available at that time- I’ve had to reschedule, as well. These doctors aren’t just office doctors. They have office visits. They have c-sections, hysterectomies, hysterosalpingograms, CT scans, so many things we don’t even know. So many things that can’t even be performed in the office. Not to mention how many women go into emergency labor or have to have some kind of emergency surgery that requires the doctor to drop everything else in order to save their life. These doctors run all over town trying to help us. One hospital to do this test, that hospital for a dangerous delivery, a different hospital to do a hysterectomy. Then they have to go back to those places post-op to follow up.
The amount of people willing to pay and take on years of medical school, pay out the butt for malpractice insurance, deal with sick, unreasonable people on the daily basis is becoming smaller every year.
There is a medical staff shortage that is only getting worse. That being said, maybe try having some patience and empathy for the people doing their best to help us. If not, it’s a free country. You’re more than welcome to try your luck somewhere else.
It’s a beautiful thing that we have the choice and options to choose our Healthcare provider unlike so many other countries.

The wait time to get on with the doctor is always over an hour after your appt time. It don’t help to get here early. Just means u wait that much long :(

I was referred by my primary care physician to Women’s Health of Augusta for menopause care. After reading the reviews I was a bit concerned but, I went anyway. I was scheduled for a menopause consult and yearly exam. When I arrived and signed in I was called back almost immediately for vitals then sent me to waiting room for Dr Alexandra Shurling. In matter of minutes I was called back to the room and Dr Shurling was in very quickly. We discussed why I was being seen and the type of care I needed. She would give suggestions and let me make decision that worked best for me. She was absolutely phenomenal, along with her nurse. I was in the office in total maybe an hour. I would give her 20 stars if I could. The care and friendliness from the front desk to checkout was great.

My wife and I are both seen by Dr. Shurling , To say she is absolutely AMAZING is an UNDERSTATEMENT. She is attentive and listens to your concerns. My wife is currently being seen by Dr.Shurling for prenatal care and we could not have chosen a better doctor , When she walks in she ignites the room with positive energy and we are always so happy to see her. It’s nice to have a doctor like Dr. Shurling who is easy to connect with. We absolutely love her and if we could rate her 100 stars we would !!

Five stars isn’t enough for Dr Shurling and her nurse Debbie. I had a procedure done and was very anxious about it. Dr Shurling was kind and explained what she was doing throughout. Debbie let me hold her hand when I felt pain. Although I was nervous, I felt cared for and supported. Dr Shurling is both an empathetic and competent doctor. She has my trust and I highly recommend her.
