The Viva El Toro Mexican Restaurant was established in 2003. We opened The Cantina Grill, Bar & Lounge with the intention of melding traditional Mexican cuisine with a touch of Southern flavors . Our focus is providing a quality experience for every guest, whether they join us for a business lunch, dinner date or fun night out with friends in our lounge. We hope you enjoy your experience with us!

Located in the heart of downtown, our specialty is serving fresh Mexican food with a twist. Voted the “Best Margarita” (2011) in Columbus through the Ledger Enquirer, we also offer the largest tequila bar in Columbus and offer a great selection of draft beer such as Ranger IPA, Yuengling, Guinness, and Dos XX. Enjoy $4.75 flavored margaritas daily and other food and drink specials every night.

We also offer a semi-private room in the back for up to 20 people which can be reserved for birthday parties, office luncheons, and more. On Friday and Saturday nights after 11PM, the Cantina turns into a Latin night club offering the best selection of Salsa, Merengue, Bachatta, and Reggeton. Favorite Mexican Place in Columbus. Friendly Staff. Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Quick service. Sports bar is fun to watch football. I recommend to give it a try. The margaritas are really good.

Raised in El Paso, for a gringo I know good Mexican food and Viva El Toro has it. Ernesto, manager and bartender, took my challenge and delivered!! The guacamole was supberb-made fresh daily, you must try it. Service was great and atmosphere was authentic. When in town, I’ll be back!!

Ernesto and his team are the bomb! They make you feel like family! The food is always delicious! The Asada Tacos are the best. Their salsa for the chips is more than just tomatoe sauce, it has cilantro and the perfect amount of spice! I don’t go any where else! Catch the Sunday buffet bar for a more home cooked Mexican meal!

This is our family’s go-to Mexico restaurant since we’ve lived here. Never had anything to complain about and the food is always satisfying. The manager is really nice and knows how to treat customers.

We came in as they were close to closing for the night it was Monday 6/6/16 . They never said they were closing,they never turned us away they never asked us to leave we had not only delicious food shrimp in fajitas but we had amazing mouth-watering made with love mango Margaritas glasses were rimmed with sugar fresh Cherry & lime thinking about it makes my mouth water!! Next time I’m back in Columbus I will return!! Thanks!!
