Low Country Cuisine on River Street – A Savannah Tradition for 37 Years. Locally owned and operated since 1977, the Shrimp Factory is a Casual, Friendly, Fine Dining Restaurant overlooking the Savannah Riverfront, where you can “Watch The Ships Go By!” as you enjoy the finest in local seafood. Cheri Harris-Power, the Harris’s daughter, bought the restaurant in 1990.

The Shrimp Factory changed hands in early 2013 when it was purchased by Jennifer and Tim Strickland, the Savannah brother-and-sister foodie team famous for their delicious Gourmet Southern Candies and other goodies at nearby River Street Sweets. You’ll see why when you taste the pecan pie for dessert!

Seafood and Savannah go hand in hand, and here you’ll find one of the city’s tastiest options for casual, coastal dining along the thriving riverfront. Housed in one of River Street’s former cotton warehouses built in 1823, the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

You’re sure to remember you’re on the water once inside these old walls, decorated with whimsical coastal art, as well as, traditional John Stobart prints. The building’s original heart of pine beams, Savannah grey brick and ballast stones, complete the casual coastal feel. Fantastic food and service. I had the shrimp scampi and Bob had the Trio Shrimp, both excellent. Genres was our server and we’ve never had one better anywhere. Table side Cesar salad and bread was included with the meal. This was the best dinner we’ve had so far on our trip. Would definitely come here again.

We are new visitors to Savannah, so we walked along the river and found the Shrimp Factory. I had the shrimp and sausage creole and my wife had the fried flounder platter. Both dishes were very good. Hot bread and a tossed salad was the perfect accompaniment.

We were hungry for stuffed shrimp and as you can expect, they had it here at the Shrimp Factory. The meal was served with rolls with a tasty cheese spread and a Cesar salad, tossed at the table. We had more than enough shrimp (I believe 8 pieces) with rice and it was very good. We loved the old building and enjoyed our meal very much plus we had a fantastic server. Although it was a little pricy, when you realize that you’re in Savannah on River St, it wasn’t out of line.

Bouillabaisse to die for! Very good service and very fresh seafood. Right near stop for “hop on, hop off.” You won’t be disappointed.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel when we asked for a somewhat casual good seafood restaurant in the area. I must say, this was one of the best seafood meals my husband & I have ever had. I had a shrimp, sausage, corn & red potato boil while he had a crabmeat stuffed shrimp dish. A salad and warm rolls with butter and a delicious cheese spread also accompanied this. I was amazed by the serving size. My plate was overflowing and my husband’s contained at least 8 overstuffed shrimp and red rice! Needless to say we were very well fed and cared after by our very attentive and new waiter Josh!
Overall a great restaurant in a beautiful location (River Street) overlooking the Savannah River!
