My family and I had dinner here before the Maxwell & Kem concert on 3/30/19.
Our waitress was amazing, she went out of her way to make sure we were satisfied. We wanted our lobster rolls prepared Connecticut style (warm) instead of Maine style (cold). She immediately inquired with the Chef, which made us happy when he agreed.
We ordered 2 servings of hush puppies, three lobster rolls, scallops, basmati fried rice and prosecco wine…let me just say, EVERYTHING was exceptional. Let’s be honest you go to different restaurants around the Atlanta area and it could be hit or miss. The Optimist is absolutely phenomenal.

The Optimist continues to be my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. Visited again tonight, everything was delicious as always. I spoke to the chef that prepared the menu and he seemed pleased when I expressed my enjoyment for his dishes. He said that he likes to come in and ‘play’ to create his dishes. Very well done again!

The Optimist is always an enjoyable spot to have a business lunch, dine with friends or just have a drink. High energy bar scene–and outstanding service. I will be back!

Superb seafood! The Spanish grilled octopus was heaven… it was just the right texture and the flavors were wonderful. That dish is HIGHLY recommended. The service was also amazing.
This place is great for a nice date!

We were greeted as soon as we got there. It took a couple of minutes for the waitress to serve us but she was great: she checked on us regularly, was extremely friendly, and answered all the questions we had about the wine and food.
We sat at the oyster bar which limited the menu options but that was ok since we were only there for the oysters.They have a wide range of different oysters for you to choose from. I tried 7 out of the 12 they offered; they were delicious! They also have a nice selection of wine, beer, and cocktails. I will definitely be coming back!
