Welcome to Square One Fish Company serving South Florida seafood and style in Athens, Georgia since 2009. We are Athens, Georgia’s only Florida style seafood restaurant. Fresh fish and seafood are only the beginning at Square One. Everything from the breads we serve to the sauces to the desserts are made from scratch on premise.

While our menu is concentrated on sea fare, we are proud to serve excellent steaks, chicken, and vegetarian cuisine, too. Try dining al fresco on our large patio, in our open kitchen seating where you can watch as all plates are prepared for service, in our inviting bar area, or in our cozy dining room. Bring your larger group for a private meal in our upstairs dining room. Square One offers seating to suit your dining mood.

Is there a special meaning in the name Square One? There is. Chef-owner Joe Cascio and his wife and partner, Erica, were looking for a simpler life in a smaller town after successfully running their award winning seafood restaurant in the Pompano Beach for 17 years. Athens, Georgia has been their home since 2009 and they have never looked back!

My husband and myself visited Square One with another couple tonight for dinner. The atmosphere on the patio was very nice and the service from our waiter was excellent. I had the North Carolina Trout which was delicious and the Grits pie which was very interesting and delicious as well. We will definitely visit Square One again!

Great place! My wife and I went there last night for our wedding anniversary wanting to try a new place. We were not disappointed. Our server, Ethan, was awesome. He was very helpful and attentive. He had great advice when my wife asked for suggestions. The oysters were incredible and I suggest you try the sampler so you can try all their styles. The meals weren’t cheap but this is seafood in athens ga lol. You get what you pay for and I have paid more for less quality. We are already planning on going back and I would suggest anyone to give it a try!

This place is amazing! I ordered the tuna sashimi special and it was fabulous. I’ve never had such high quality tuna before. My wife also very much enjoyed her dish as well. Other pluses are that it has its own parking lot, is very low carb friendly, and has a lot of good booths for two.

Never disappointed by the quality & taste of the food here, and the great service. Great food, great portions, great price, great atmosphere, and love the wine pairings on the menu. Dishes that stand out that I’ve had are the whole grouper, sesame tuna, and lobster pasta. The tuna tartare and conch fritter apps are delicious, too. We’ve gone to Square 1 often, and not had a bad experience yet. Everyone has an off-day or night at work, regardless of the industry, inclusive of restaurants. If you’ve only been once, and it wasn’t stellar, give it another shot before calling it.
