With an eye on the future and feet firmly rooted in great Southern culinary traditions, Smokejack Southern Grill has been proudly serving the northern Atlanta suburbs since 2004.

Smokejack is in the heart of historic Alpharetta, located in a charming 180-year old building that has served the community in a variety of ways. We’re just carrying on that great tradition.

Our mission is to take fresh, high quality ingredients and prepare them with care and respect, resulting in unique and delicious food. And while we emphasize great barbeque, we play no favorites with the many regional styles. From slow smoked, hand-pulled pork to moist tender ribs to our signature beef burnt ends, we have something for all BBQ lovers.

Outstanding local BBQ restaurant. The Beef Burnt Ends are amazing. The Corn Pudding and Brisket Chili are both phenomenal. I hosted a work lunch for 16 people and the service was top notch. For those who want something different try the burger or smoked turkey as they are both great choices.

I’m a barbecue fanatic and I critique hard, however Smoke Jack was absolutely the best bbq restaurant I’ve experienced in a very long time. I ordered the ribs, smoke chicken and pulled pork w/ collard greens and Mac& cheese. The food was reasonably priced and most delicious, plus there was more than enough for me to take home. I also recommend the (reddish/pink) Moscow mule, can’t remember the name but it’s a regular drink on the menu…delicious and nice for a hot summer day.

As we opened the car door, we knew we had chose well. The smoke smell was amazing. The service was spot on. The menu has some interesting items… I went for the brisket chili and was not disappointed. I am not a wimp when it comes to heat but I am also not a veteran. It was just right for chili (no beans as expected) .. I left off the jalapenos. My son had the pulled pork sandwich. I personally feel it should have been a little larger but he loved it. The queso with pulled pork added in was a bonus. It was a pleasant surprise to find TX barbecue in GA.

Smokejack has really good bbq and I love the location right in downtown Alpharetta. A good bbq restaurant can smoke meats well but a GREAT bbq restaurant makes great side dishes. The corn pudding was amazing and a star of the show. The pork sausage was really good too kinda tasted like a hot link especially pairs with their hot bbq sauce which honestly has an nice spice profile without being overly spicy. The dry rub ribs were also another star of the show! Many of the bbq restaurants in GA I find myself using quite a bit bbq sauce but here I used next to none and mainly just because it was my first time here. Their seasoning is on point at Smokejack!

I haven’t tried their meat, but got a veggie plate and it was delicious. I ordered over the phone as I was parking, listened to a few favorite songs, walked in and was addressed and helped right away. I’ll be back when I’m the mood for BBQd meats, but was fully satisfied after their sides of greens, sweet potato mash, macaroni, and tomato salad.

Just moved to Milton a few weeks ago and two other (highly rated) BBQ places were less than impressive. THANK GOODNESS Smokejack is here. I forget which dishes everyone at my table had (some variety of pulled pork, brisket, fried chicken, and turkey), but everyone was happy. Will definitely be back, maybe with our dogs since they’re allowed on the front patio, which is awesome. Oh, great beer selection too…

For solid barbecue, this place is always one of my tops. All their food is top notch.. Burnt ends are always the best. Their local root beer is a great touch as are the fried pickles. But the best, is the Pudding for dessert… One of my go-tos for taking customers I want to have a solid and filling meal.

Our server Abby was very polite. She was also patient with our children. She acknowledged their presence during the ordering process so kindly. I really appreciated that. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed my cocktail.

It was great. We don’t get a lot of good BBQ around Chicago, so being in Atlanta and to stumble on to a great restaurant as Smokejack was a great treat.

After my husband left me when I was diagnosed with cancer, my two lovely sons brought me here to put things right. I am now cancer free, and it could be because of the mac and cheese from Smokejack!

Great food, casual atmosphere, nice view of downtown Alpharetta. Our server was very attentive and sweet. Good options if you’re looking for light side options. I had the quarter chicken, wood grilled veggies and tomato/cucumber salad. Wings on the starter list are amazing! Our family ate on a Monday and I bet it was just as good as on a Saturday, kudos to the chef for making delicious food no matter the day of the week. We will be back!
