He is an expert in the art of Asian fusion and has trained under renowned sushi chefs Sotohiro Kosugi of Soto Japanese Restaurant and Roy Yamaguchi of Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine.

This is one of the best gems in Atlanta! We eat sushi at the best restaurants around the world and we live in LA and Miami, where great sushi is commonplace. To have a place of this quality near my parents house, when we are in town, is such a blessing!

The best ! In town for a visit, stopped by our favorite sushi in Atlanta . After living in la , it was “tough ” to meet our expectations in Atlanta . One of my favorites is the ” grenade” spicy tuna tartare with rice covered with avocado and spicy sauce a regular has 10 chile peppers ,, if you like your food really hot step it up a few . Tim the owner always makes us feel welcome !

Really enjoyed Sakura. Was not expecting much, but they had awesome sushi rice and beautiful cuts. The rice had great flavor could taste the vinegar/sweet combo and it was well cooked and maintained, not gummy at all. So many places miss the mark on rice. On top of that, the cuts of fish were wonderful and the sauces and acoutrements used elevated the natural sweetness of the fish. The sake toro was killer as was the snapper, hamachi, and aji as well..I didn’t eat any rolls so I cannot speak to that, but the sushi is excellent.

We have been going to Sakura since they opened years ago. Tim is an amazing sushi chef and everything he and his staff put out is not only beautiful, but extremely tasty. If you’re adventurous, you can tell them to suggest some rolls or just bring you out chefs choice and you will not be disappointed. It does get crowded so we normally get ours to go but have dined in and sat at the bar as well and have never been disappointed.

I’ve been coming here for years, and the owner Tim has never let us down. The best sushi this side of town hands down. I recommend the King of the Sea roll, and my personal favorite the Sakura roll.
