What is Rednexican? Fresh flavors and smoky heat. Slow cooked brisket and sweet barbeque pork. A division of Jawbones BBQ, Rednexican aims to serve up a flavorful marriage of southern soul food with a south of the border spice. Not your Momma’s collard greens and amped up Mac & Cheese. Try our made-to-order burritos or grab a fried catfish taco. It’s different and oh so good!

The idea behind Rednexican was dreamed up by owner Chad Smith while on a fishing trip with friends. After a long day of scalloping on the Gulf Coast Chad and his friends came back to shore starving and ready for dinner. But the group was split on what to eat– Mexican or Barbeque? And the Rednexican story starts there.

Chad and his partner, Al Booth, created a menu to combine family recipes with Tex-Mex boldness. With menu items like our BBQ Brisket Rueben, “Toxic” Catfish Tacos and our ever-popular Pimpp Quesadilla, one could say we’ve got the fusion down pretty well. Good friends that make good tacos and good tacos make good friends!

Absolutely one of my favorite spots…kind of a “where-everybody-knows-your-name” type of joint. The Ramrod Cod tacos, pimento cheese and pulled pork quesadilla, and the brisket Bubbarito are phenomenal. Their brunswick stew is some of the best I’ve ever had and the mac and cheese is awesome…plus, free refills of chips and salsa! Also, I’ve never liked collard greens, but I love theirs. Good beer selection and cool atmosphere too.

My family and I stopped in Newnan for lunch on our way to Atlanta, and when I found this place, I had to try it. Fusion between my two favorite food types, Mexican and Southern! It did not disappoint. I got the Bubbarito with beef brisket and the flavor combination was unreal! The restaurant’s decor is also great, along with the setting smack dab in the middle of downtown and across from the historic courthouse. This restaurant is a gem within a gem of a city!

We love this place. The Don Juan salad is the best salad around town. Taco Tuesday starts after 5:00 on Tuesday. Make sure you try it. Wonderful food at a reasonable price.

When somebody told me about this place I thought concept sounded awful. Southern food mixed with Mexican? Yuck. However, my friends dragged me to Rednexican and its actually great! The food is good and gets extra marks from me for being different. I’ve had many different dishes here and it’s all good. I like the beer selection as well. Price is very reasonable as well. Overall I enjoyed the concept of thier food and can’t really find fault with anything.
