Dr. Schlafstein is the best in his field. I’ve had two surgeries by him and both were very successful. He is very compassionate and listens to his patients. I am blessed to have him as my doctor.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Barry Schlafstein. He actually listens to his patients and is very detailed in his questions about your needs and the care he will provide. He explains everything you might experience and is always there for you. My surgery went great and I have had no issues since. So very happy with the surgery he performed. If you have any female issues I would highly recommend Dr. Schlafstein. His wisdom, education and gentle compassion shines through him and his work. love love love this Dr.!!!

What a amazing DOCTOR.. I was referred to him because I found out I needed to have a hysterectomy due to fibroid. I was a little nervous from past see sections that it was gonna be a tough job normally for the sides uterus, he reassured me not to worry and that he was the best man for the job at hand.. I’m almost 6 weeks post op, and I’m very pleased with the outcome of my surgery. this has been a life changing experience, and I’m very grateful for him and his whole staff at Candler

Dr Schlafstein’s bedside manner is a breath of fresh air! The process of having my gynecological issues taken care of was seamless. Dr. Barry’s attention to detail, his ability to communicate and walk me through every step of the process, and the genuine care and concern he has for his patients is all truly appreciated. I highly recommended his services, as well as his staff. They all handled this uncomfortable life situation with grace and compassion.

If I could give Dr. Schlafstein 10 stars I would. After years of dealing with endometriosis and doctors that didn’t take me seriously, I was admittedly weary of a male doctor for my issue.
I had no reason to worry. Dr. Schlafstein is kind, understanding, patient, respectful and most of all very thorough. After I told him about my worries with fertility and my condition he took the time to explain to me in great detail exactly what he would be doing and how it could affect fertility and what steps he would be taking to avoid that.
In addition to that, the staff and nurses are very kind and also quite funny. :) Any woman is lucky to have Dr. Schlafstein in their corner. Simply amazing doctor and I’m so grateful to him.

I recently relocated to Savannah from Atlanta and finding new doctors has been a difficult task. I am extremely fortunate that I was referred to Dr. Barry Schlafstein by my medical oncologist. There is no doubt in my mind that Dr. Schlafstein is the best gynecologist that I have ever had or ever will have. He talked with me in detail about my health issues relating to gynecological and urological problems. He is an expert in both fields. Before he performed a hysterectomy for me, Dr. Schlafstein explained why it was recommended, what would happen during the surgery, what to expect in the period of recovery, and long term. I felt secure in having Dr. Schlafstein operate because I knew he cared about me as a patient and that he had the cutting edge expertise that I wanted. He is the best of the best.

My first encounter with Dr. Schlafstein was four years ago. I was 7 months pregnant with my first child. I came into the hospital bleeding and afraid. Dr. Schlafstein was not my OB. Due to a Placental Abruption my pregnancy ended in stillbirth before I arrived at the hospital. It was terrible. Dr. Schlafstein was so compassionate and a true blessing for me. Since then, he has been my Gynecologist. He is caring, careful, honest, and outstanding at his profession. I am always greeted with a smile and leave with a hug. I can’t thank him enough. Receiving calls after hours from him is not uncommon. He listened to me and understood my fears. I am forever grateful for him. Thank You Dr. Schlafstein for all that you do!!

Dr Schlafstein was referred to me by Dr Tucker. I had several large fibroids. They were so large I was measuring at 38 weeks. I was originally going to memorial. The lack of communication was So horrible it left me in tears and on a mission to find another doctor. Two doctors later I found Dr Tucker. I knew I found the right GYN at this point. He referred me to Dr Schlafstein to help tackle my surgery. I could not have gone through this process with anymore ease. I didn’t not realize the true value of Dr Schlafstein until a recent hospitalization of my mother.
Her doctor and staff do not communicate with her nor the nurses that are taking care of her. He dosent even come and check on my mother each day. He may see her once a week while he does rounds. Dr Schlafstein checked on me each day and made me feel like I was a family member the amount of time and patience he took while doing his rounds. I now consider him a friend. His staff is could do a little better with friendliness and calling with reminders

Dr. Barry has seen me through so much! From the birth of my second child to my hysterectomy. He is very patient and kind. Even checked on me while at home. Love this doctor.

Amazing doctor. I never thought I would like a male gynecologist. He is extremely smart and has the best bedside manner. I have been seeing him since I was 21 (6 years). He has seen and treated me with endometriosis and PCOS. He always finds what works for me and follows up on it. He takes his time and gets to know his patients. Melinda is just as wonderful. I couldn’t imagine seeing anyone else.
