Matt Porterfield, Owner, has dedicated his life to Trees.

His vision is not just a removal of a tree, but re-plantation of new trees. Tree care is in his and his staff’s blood. Environment
We only have one planet and trees are an essential resource to this planet. We use trees daily for oxygen consumption, to make our homes beautiful and for firewood to keep us warm. An Athens tree removal company, Augusta tree service company or my hometown of Watkinsville tree service area strives to give back to the community.

We give back to the community by giving mulch to our local parks and tree logs to local saw mills to use as lumber. Planting new trees is also a joy for Matt and his crew. We are so happy with the work that Matt and his team did to trim our large trees back from over our house. They were priced the best, and were able to fit us in to their schedule within two weeks. Matt and his crew did a great job removing my storm damaged tree safely and efficiently. Plus, they are polite, friendly and courteous. I have only lived in Athens for a very short time so I had no idea who to call to take care of the tree; I couldn’t have made a better choice! Matt answered all my questions (I had a bunch) when he came out to give me an estimate, which in my opinion, was very fair and reasonable. If you are looking for a honest, trustworthy and reasonably priced tree company that truly like what they do and care about the environment, then look no further as this company will live up to your expectations. My daughter, who also lives in Athens, needs some stumps removed so I didn’t hesitate giving her Matt’s contact information because I know she will be well taken care of and given a fair and honest price. I have been involved in the tree service business for more than 40 years in the Athens area. I have been a certified arborist for a number of those years. I have consulted with and worked with Matt Porterfield on several occasions. I have found him to be a man of high character that is concerned with doing a good job the right way. I believe She Abe’s review of Matt is unfair and inaccurate. I spoke with the city arborist Vicky Buschbon. She denied Matt had been told to stop working. She also said that her office did not have the authority to give such an order. It is the home owners responsibility to get the appropriate permits for work on their property. I believe Ms Abe’s evaluation “he favors money over over city laws and respect for the environment” is a wrong interpretation of the events as I understand them. – I would not hesitate to recommend Matt as a competent and conscientious professional.

Porterfield removed a dangerous Pine tree that was within 10 feet of my house. They were professional and did an excellent job… and came in under budget. Highly recommended.

Matt Porterfield and his team came highly recommended and they did not disappoint! These guys were friendly, safe and took time to explain to us how they were going to take down the large pine tree we wanted removed. The tree was in our front yard, very close to power cable lines and they took it down without a hitch. They removed all the limbs, and debris from our yard so when they left you couldn’t tell they had been there… minus one big tree being gone! Highly recommend! Thanks Porterfield!
