This is a must when in Atlanta. An absolutely perfect foodie paradise experience. You’ve never had Asian noodles this delicious outside of the best Chinese restaurants, grilled salmon this good, lobster fried rice this addictive, and on and on. Everything on the menu is a home run. You also can’t leave without dessert. The hostess, bartenders & wait staff all go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

First – make a reservation. Second – go hungry because you want to fill your belly with as much of this delicious food as you can. Everything we ate was great, but the dessert made me want to slap someone!
For appetizers, our table ordered: chicken and pork dumplings, basil rolls, deviled eggs. My entree was the lobster fried rice! absolutely delish! the food was so fresh. Other entrees at our table were the following plates: fried chicken, crispy beef, and the crabmeat grilled cheese.
We took the desserts for later, which were the Fuji Apple and the suspension cake. I almost lost my mind when I tasted these desserts. Hands down, go to Poor Calvin’s…You won’t regret it!

First time here and everything was absolutely amazing. There is a long wait time so I strongly suggest you make reservations. My sister and I ordered cocktails while we waited. She had the the Pho and I had the old fashion. Both drinks we delicious and filled with lots of flavor. For an appetizer I ordered the lobster wontons. They were absolutely amazing. For my meal I ordered the seafood curry which was delicious and my sister had the lobster fried rice. The staff was so nice as well although it was very chaotic with it being so crowded. James the manager was extremely helpful and kind. I will definitely be coming back.

WORTH THE DISTANCE!! I like to try unique and local foods when travelling. While in Atlanta for business I had lunch at Poor Calvin’s. I had the chicken and waffles, mac (no lobster), and basil spring roll app. I found the food to be an amazing mix of Asian flavors and southern comfort food. The cooking was extremely well done, plated well, and attentive service. This is a great destination and worth the few minutes to travel away from city center.

Excellent experience all around. I highly recommend this restaurant. We sat at the bar for appetizers and dessert and had friendly and attentive service from the bar staff with regular but unobtrusive checkins on whether we needed anything. The deviled eggs were amazing and so original, unlike anything I have ever had before. My dinner partner got dumplings that were a daily special and she loved them. We split a peach dessert that was sort of like an empanada, but again very original. We devoured it and considered ordering another! The cakes in the dessert case looked impressive as well. Loved this restaurant so much I got takeout from them the next day on my way out of town as I headed back home!
