I’ve been seeing Alison English here since last year and she is absolutely wonderful. I have had very bad experiences with physicians not taking me seriously in the past, but I never feel like Alison is rushing through appointments or dismissing me; she always listens closely to my concerns, is very transparent with me about my options (including the potential financial costs), and thoroughly answers any questions I have. She also responds very quickly to portal messages, so even if I don’t have an appointment coming up soon, she always feels accessible for things like quick questions or prescription refills (the latter of which have often been very stressful ordeals at previous clinics I’ve been to and have been completely painless so far at this clinic).
Alison is the only physician whose awesomeness I can personally attest to, but I have a couple friends who see other providers here and also only have good things to say, so I think you probably can’t go wrong with anyone on the team. The front desk and lab tech are also incredibly kind (I’m sorry I’m so bad with names or I’d raise them up too!), and both the portal and telehealth pages have worked really well for me. Highly recommend this clinic, especially for trans people and/or anyone who has struggled to find a PCP who takes their symptoms seriously.

I cannot say enough good things about this practice. I am chronically ill and have been a medical mystery this summer. Savannah has treated me with nothing but compassion, and when I showed up with new concerns regarding some important organs, she moved mountains to get me in with a specialist in just a few days. She has explained everything thoroughly and treated me with respect, as compared to other doctors in my experience who have treated me poorly once they learn I understand my body and how it works. I have felt more respected by her than any physician I’ve worked with in years, and never though I would have such a mutually respectful relationship with a physician again. My partner also goes to this practice and has a similar relationship with her physician.

PPC is the best of the best-and I realized that even more after the staff here helped me work through a recent health issue! Kristina and Dr. Costley as well as the rest of the office staff go above and beyond in helping me deal with anything health related, from pharmacy problems to last minute appointment requests. I love having access to everything through Patient Portal and Kristina always does a great job promptly addressing whatever concerns or questions I may have, but really any of the NPs I’ve seen have been fantastic. Because of this whole team I’m the healthiest mentally and physically I’ve been in years. I’ve been going here for 8 years (even when I’ve lived OTP-it’s worth dealing with traffic!) and am going to continue being a patient here for as long as possible.

I’ve been going to this office for years. Moved to North Carolina last year and still make the 3hr drive. Every single time I’ve had the most pleasant experience from front to back. I see Kristina Lemene and she’s so thorough and makes you feel completely at ease. It’s the most professional, but laid back private practice. Can’t say enough about them. Self pay prices were shockingly fair too. Thanks everyone for being so awesome!

I have been a patient of Ponce Primary Care since moving to Decatur in 2015 and have always had a wonderful experience. Earlier this year we decided to move our teenage sons from their pediatrician to this office for their primary care. I am so happy that I did because when my older son was in an accident out of town, we found ourselves in a difficult situation of having his medical records transferred from a hospital out of town to CHOA for follow up. It proved to be an uphill battle and Savannah and Jackie spent a LOT of time on the telephone trying to get medical records, reports sent and managed to get us in to see a neurosurgeon three weeks earlier than we were originally quoted. I am so grateful for the attention they gave to my family during a difficult time. 12/10 recommend.

I have been seeing the providers at Ponce Primary Care for several years now and have had a fantastic experience. I have seen Dr Walker, Dr. Costley and NP Kara Brown and all experiences were excellent. I also have had positive interactions with the office staff. Though the phone will sometimes go to voicemail, they respond to calls very quickly and always work me into the schedule very quickly. The providers are very thorough, spend a lot of time with you, and wait times are minimal.

Anyone who has contact with the medical field will quickly notice that Dr. Costley is sharp even among doctors. I have had the same experience with his colleagues. One thing they won’t do is try to hit you up for unnecessary treatment that could make them money but worsen your health.

I have gone to PPC several times now, and I’ve had a great experience each time. The wait times are always very short during the day (less than 5 minutes in the waiting room is typical, less than 10 minutes in the office for me), and each doctor I’ve seen has been thorough, attentive, and pleasant. I have referred many friends to this office after having several positive experiences.

I’ve been waiting to find a primary doctor that was exceptional in all manners. From professionalism to bedside manner, Emily Walker as been one of the most thorough doctors I have ever had. In the past, I have always felt rushed and just like another pay check to some doctors. Not here! From the moment you walk into the office you feel a sense of calmness and helpfulness. Very clean and tidy office space that feels very welcoming. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The receptionist has been great to work with and my nurse as well. 10/10 would recommend.

Just saw Tara for my yearly check up and couldn’t have gone better. Her bedside manner is stellar and never once did i feel rushed. So happy to be a patient there.
They also get 5 stars because i scheduled a 1 pm appt. and was in the room at 1, and seen at 1:05. It’s amazing when a Dr.’s office actually respects your time.

Dr. Walker and the NP’s are excellent. It took me a few years to find a GP that I really liked and felt comfortable with. Dr. Walker is very detailed and personable. The location is convenient. The wait times are very short. I have been to many doctors where the wait times were so long, I wondered if they had forgotten I was there-that would never happen here. I cant recommend them enough.

Dr. Hogai is extremely thorough and caring and has given me my best experience with a doctor. She’s truly concerned and cares about her patients. The nurses were also phenomenal. I forget her name, but she sat with me for an hour to help me work through my extreme fear of needles and never made me feel rushed or silly for having that fear. She’s the tall blonde who’s there everyday. If you get her as a nurse, you’re in awesome hands. I’m even greeted when I walk in the door. Could not recommend this place enough.

Today was my second visit (about 12 months after the first one) and both times that I have been here I have been put at ease. They’ve treated me kindly, patiently addressed my concerns and sent me on my merry way feeling very cared for in a non-judgmental environment. I always feel I get the best medical advice and treatment and I’m so grateful to have them to call. They got me in same day and I honestly feel I’m coming to a personal hometown office that genuinely cares about the well-being of their patients. Can’t thank Dr Walker and her team enough for being kind and making me laugh.

I cannot say enough good things about Ponce Primary Care. First of all the office staff is wonderful. They are very courteous, friendly, and professional. Each time I have called, the receptionist has been so nice and has listened carefully to my concerns and worked hard to schedule me in as soon as possible. If for some reason she is unable to answer a call she always calls back right away and helps me make an appointment. Each time I have gone to PCP the office staff has been very kind and easy to work with and I have never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes, ever. I appreciate that.
As for the nurses, doctors and nurse practitioners, they are amazing. They do a great job of listening carefully, asking a lot of questions, getting to know your medical history, and diagnosing whatever medical condition you have. I never feel rushed and I never feel that there is a question I cannot ask. If something comes up after an appointment they make it very easy to e-mail them and they will e-mail you back and address any concerns that you have in a timely manner. This is a very modern doctor’s office but it feels old-fashioned in that you really get the sense that the people who work here care about their patients as individuals and really seek to help them feel better and achieve optimal wellness.

I have been going to this clinic for at least 5 years. I actually left a negative review in the past when I had some negative experiences with reception staff at the time. I went here recently and had a moment of clarity… I realized that the times I was so annoyed in the past, they were in the midst of a transitional period, where the office was trying to catch up with “the times” and move to electronic record keeping and streamline their process. That is going to be rough for any practice and it makes it all the more impressive that they have gotten through that rough patch with 4+ star reviews. I have seen every provider in the office, and my mainstay is Kristina Lemene, NP-C. They are all sharp as tacks and I never feel like a) my concerns are down-played or b) a bunch of unnecessary (read: expensive) tests/procedures were added just for kicks. The front desk is a well-oiled machine as well by now and I’ve never waited more than 5 mins to be taken back to the room (even during the transitional period). Also- most of the people working there now have been there for a while, so the employee retention alone is a great sign of the organizational health of this practice. I’ve referred multiple people to this practice and I will continue to do so. Keep up the great work, Ponce Primary Care!

I’ve been coming to Ponce Primary Care for the last 5 years and hope to never move out of the area as they are top notch!! Prior to the expansion of their office with more providers, I had the pleasure on my first experience to have my blood drawn by Dr Costley. When I asked if he was short staffed, he told that me he did the extra step as to ensure the “ah ha” moment that patients had when doctors left the room would happen while he was still in it. He also mentioned coming from the hospital setting where the patient went though 7 sets of hands prior to ever seeing him and wanted to redesign what he thought to be better patient care. They don’t over book appointments & don’t have tons of people in the waiting room. This is because they will be charged a cancellation fee for missed appointments & won’t hold your spot if your someone who can’t be on time. This means you don’t typically wait longer than 10-15 min tops to be seen. The staff is friendly & great at their job, highly recommended!!
