Dr. Andrew J. Edwards III graduated from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in 1990. Currently, Dr. Edwards specializes in Obstetrics & Gynecology and has over 24 years experience. In 1995 he joined his father, Dr. A. Joseph Edwards, Jr. at the OBGYN Center. Dr. Edwards III is affiliated with Memorial University Medical Center, Saint Josephs Hospital and St Josephs/Candler Health System.

Dr. Edwards is an amazing OBGYN. I went through IVF to get pregnant with my son. Dr Edwards was very informative and very compassionate throughout the whole entire process of my pregnancy. I have been going to Dr. Edwards for over 12 years now. He delivered both of my children. He makes you feel very comfortable when you’re in his office and you can be very open and talk to him about any issue you have going on. He is patient and very attentive. Best decision I made was switching to him!

I would give Dr. Edwards and his team a million stars if I could! At my 37 week ultrasound, his incredible ultrasound tech Caroline, saw that my son’s umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and his heart rate was decelerating. 4 hours later Dr. Edwards delivered my son via c-section and saved his little life! The compassion and care Dr. Edwards and his entire team showed me is something you don’t get from your average physicians office. His nurse, Hillaire, even went out of her way to text me while we were in the hospital letting me know I could always reach out to her if I needed to. I could go on and on, but I am just so incredibly grateful for Dr. Edwards and his amazing staff.

P.S. Dr. Edwards is the man when it comes to c-sections! I was amazed at how quickly I recovered!

If you want a Dr. That is Luke warm and sugar coats everything, don’t go to this Dr. His job is to make you healthy, not be your bff. Dr. Edwards is to the point and I like him for it. My last Gynecologist let me walk around 5 yrs without knowing my leep came back with bad results. Dr. Edwards obtained my records from my previous gynecologist. I believe he saved my life. He is also motivating me to lose weight because he is blunt about the problems being overweight causes. . ..which is what I needed.

I have been extremely happy with Dr. Edwards performance both in his office and as a surgeon. I have probably seen him 20 times in the last 3 years and have felt listened to. As a surgeon he performed a laproscopic assist hysterctomy after I had 5 c-sections. Because in his words “it was better for the patient even it was harder for him” I’ve had zero complications. (I did adhere to ALL post op instructions). My mom, herself an obgyn was impressed with my surgery and recovery.

Dr. Edwards has been my doctor for almost 20 years. Over these years, I’ve had 3 surgeries and one pregnancy. He and his staff (to include Karen-who is awesome!!) have always been very professional, compassionate, knowledgeable and most of all personable. Some of the negative reviews are because of his straight forward type of approach with patient care. I personally appreciate his forwardness with my health.

I wouldn’t want a doctor to sugar coat my health problems/conditions. Over the course of years, I have recommended him to family, friends and co-workers; all of who have become loyal long term patients as well. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for an OB/GYN!

Dr. Edwards has been my gynecologist for over 15 years. I have certainly had my share of issues, including a long overdue hysterectomy, which he did for me. I have found him to be realistic, compassionate, knowledgeable and personable. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an OB/GYN with experience and a great bedside manner.

Dr Edwards is an excellent doctor and a phenomenal surgeon! I had severe endometriosis and a giant tumor (5cm diameter) on my right ovary. Twice before I’d gone through surgeries with no results and was left with the same crippling pain. In Oct 2013, Dr Edwards skillfully operated on me and, not only was he able to save my ovary, I’ve had absolutely no pain or issues since. I can’t imagine going to anyone else. I trust him with my life! Thank you Dr Edwards and staff for your compassion and top-notch care!!
