This is a really nice hibachi place. We ate at the entertainment section where you see your food cooking live and I saw tricks I havent seen in a hibachi place! It was really enjoyable! They have amazing food even without the yumyum sauce! I got the hibachi shrimp and it was absolutely delicious. My friends had steak and chicken and those were bomb too! The quality of meat is definitely an upgrade compared to other places I’ve been to. They also have a quieter, more date night section, where they just deliver the food but no performance.

We were in Buckhead for my wife’s birthday and wanted some sushi on the 4th of July. However, the place across from the hotel was closed for the 4th so we googled the next closest sushi restaurant. It was about 4 miles away. However, from bulkhead, you have to pass a sketchy area with strip joints and porn shops. I was thinking it was time to turn around. However, when we got there it was a nice hibachi place. The food was excellent and the service was as well. My daughter and I had sushi and 2 hibachi dinners, both seasoned well and cooked to perfection. My only complaint would be the salad dressing was a little too salty. Overall, very good food and service.

Honestly, Truly and with sincerity this is by far the best hibachi I’ve had. I really love this place and the customer service is EXCELLENT! Complimentary valet and a great chef! I mean what more can you ask for? The food is amazing way better than Benihana’s which is now mediocre hibachi (speaking for ATL locations). If your looking for the real hibachi experience then Nakato will definitely not disappoint you or your taste bugs. Nor will it disappoint your pockets, you will definitely get the best bang for your buck. I’m a transitioning pescatarian vegan and I loved my veggie hibachi with salmon. I got the teriyaki glazed salmon and it complimented my veggie hibachi very well!

Hibachi gets five stars because it has my favorite food, pasta. I like the sauce on the pasta. And the soup is my favorite kind of soup, miso soup. And they make a tornado out of the circle thingie, and I like it. The circle thing is actually an onion. The vegetables – I like them so much. And I like how they cook in front of you.
I like that you can sit in the chairs and take your shoes off. I like the edamame because you can pop it out of the leaf thingie. And, I like how they sing happy birthday – and they did it to me on my birthday.

We are in town visiting, saw good reviews for this place and decided to give it a try. So glad we did! The service was amazing, food came out very quickly, and everything tasted wonderful! I had two different sushi rolls and both were great, and my husband had the hibachi dinner. No complaints! Prices reasonable, and nice atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

This is a place I have driven by for over 2 years and always wondered about. I was so happy that tonight I decided to experience this authentic Japanese restaurant right here in Atlanta! First, valet parking makes it easy. Next you have your choice of experiences from private dining to habachi tables, and then there are a series of even more private specialty areas (if you haven’t seen them, you need to go back and ask for a tour!)
Our waiter was super conscientious and our food came out at a decent speed. I ordered the Illuminati roll which was amazing. The tuna tartar was beautiful and quite large too. And the salmon with spinach was delicious! The only one thing I didn’t like was a mother dining with her teenage sons at another table was on her cellphone doing FaceTime on speakerphone for the entire time they ate dinner. That should have been stopped by management but I didn’t want to draw attention to us or to be embarrassed. (I’ve never seen anyone do that ever–hard to believe someone wouldn’t know better!) So I will absolutely be back and will bring friends. I look forward to many fun nights at Nakato!

My family and I were in Atlanta for the day, we decided it was time for dinner and were craving Japanese. My sister found this place on yelp of course, and when we got there they had valet parking(which was very very nice). We went inside and there was about a 30 minute wait. My step mom, sister and I went to the bar to get a drink, I order the “Godzilla” which was a specialty cocktail and I loveeeeddd it! The drinks were quick and the bartender was friendly, we paid our tab and waited out in the patio area! After we got seated we had the best server ever, he was super super friendly, nice and funny! We all ordered our food and it came out fairly quickly! The food was to die for! They have amazing seasoning and the noodles are cooked to perfection! My family and I will definitely be back when I’m Atlanta! I LOVED THIS PLACE AND AM CONSTANTLY CRAVING IT!

This is the only place I’ll eat sushi in Atlanta. The wait staff is very attentive and can suggest options I would’ve never considered. For my husband’s promotion, we treated ourselves to some omakase, which is a special sushi plate for 2. We got the deluxe fish and it was definitely worth the price. If anyone wants a recommendation for dinner in Atlanta, I’ll always say Nakato.

The hibachi was definitely top class. The chef knew not only how to cook but also how to interact with and entertain the audience. Hibachi can be defined as dinner AND a show, and Nakato delivered on both. The food is a bit on the pricey end, but you get a full meal from appetizer to salad to soup to entree. Great for special occasions or if you want to see what a skilled man with a knife can really do.

We happened to luck up on this restaurant. We were leaving the Trap Museum and wanted hibachi style food. Great parking with valet. The food is fresh and plentiful! Our hibachi chef was so comical, refreshing, and very customer friendly! I ordered sushi as well and it was wonderful! Will definitely be back! The food was so good and the environment so comfy, I forgot pics but I WILL BE BACK SOON and will post pics as well.

I absolutely love this place now. My family and I celebrated my birthday here. It’s something about the vegetables that got me hook! Even my 5 year old son finished the vegetables before all of the food was ready to eat. We had the shoe off seating style. Cleanliness 5/5, food 5/5, hostesses 5/5, service 5/5.

This place is really good. The food quality is also top notch. I ordered chicken and shrimp and it was delicious. It comes with bunch of sides such as soup, salad, and some apps (depending on what you select) and also fried rice. The chefs presentation was spot on too.
Tip: It gets crowded so have a reservation.
Tip: They cook vegetarian and meat food on same grill. So that could be an issue with some vegetarian folks.

I have been to A TON of Japanese Steakhouses in my day and this was our third visit to Nakato. Every time we have been here, the dining room is completely full. I think the reasons for that are, first, the portion sizes are huge. I usually order the steak and shrimp and seriously have a hard time finishing it. Second, the chefs are all very experienced. They are both efficient and funny and the food comes out great. Lastly, this restaurant has been around for a long time and they have the customer experience down to a science. Yes, it is more expensive than most Japanese Steakhouses, but I believe it is worth it. We will be back again soon.

My husband reserved one of the tatami rooms for my birthday. I expected to take my shoes off and I expected to sit on the floor. What was a pleasant surprise was they had a space under the table for us to sit “normally” (by western standards) so we could sit comfortably without worrying about our legs going to sleep or going numb.
The menu we were provided was all planned by the chef and was a nice difference to what we’re used to where you order off the menu what you want. Meaning our dinner was picked for us. I don’t know if this is something normal for those that are in the upper classes but I can say we’ve never experienced this and it was absolutely wonderful. I would not recommend doing this kind of dining if you are a picky eater or are not willing to try new things.
Our chef was 26 years old and needed a translator to come with him when we asked to meet him to thank him for the wonderful meal. This solidified even further with me that the food was authentic. Even the wasabi was real instead of the paste substitute you get at other restaurants (and yes you can tell a distinct difference between the two). Everything was nothing short of perfect, beautiful, fresh and clean. Our waitor was very polite and engaging. He knew everything about what we were eating and gave us instruction how to eat each dish, where it came from etc.
I cannot praise this place and the people enough. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. We will definitely come again and will try reserving the tatami room again at different times of the year to see how the menu changes as the seasons change.
