Although integral and integrative medicine may sound similar, integrative medicine often refers to a type of care where various modalities are offered with no unifying theory, mindset or healthy delivery option. On the other hand, integral medicine considers all aspects of what it means to be human and considers how they all relate to each other. It considers the relationship between the interior (mind and spirit) and the exterior body. In integral medicine, development is the goal as is a movement toward integration, or wholeness. Our bodies and minds are not a series of parts, rather they are one thing that works together as a unified whole.

Chinese Medicine is perfectly suited for this integral care, as the model that it is based on is holographic and integral in nature; it is a science of functional relationships and integrity of systems. Since 1998 our Atlanta acupuncture clinic has been treating patients from an integral perspective. We use primarily Chinese Medicine modalities such as acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and herbal medicine to restore balance, improve function, and reduce pain and discomfort.

At our Atlanta acupuncture clinic, we are staffed with board certified MD acupuncturists and a board certified licensed acupuncturist, and we take the time with each patient to understand patient constitution and inherent strengths and weaknesses. It is important to us that we listen and understand how current work and lifestyle choices and habituated behaviors and thinking may be perpetuating imbalance.

I have seen Mark Lewinter several times at this location. He is an acupuncturist and a Chinese herbal medicine doctor. Very observant; listens with a lot of patience to one’s concerns and come up with a treatment plan. I highly recommend him

I was very apprehensive about acupuncture. Close friends highly recommended Mark. I have been truly amazed the difference it has made. No more bursitis pain, no more leg cramps and a significant reduction in the feelings of stress and anxiety. I think if you have issues that can be addressed by acupuncture you’re crazy not to at least give it a try for once. I’m sure the results vary by patient but you have nothing to lose. It is painless except sadly insurance doesn’t cover it. (I guess chiropractors have more lobbyists!)

Mark is outstanding! Very gentle, soft-spoken, and caring. When I expressed concern over acupuncture, he suggested other methods for healing. He used one of those very effectively, and it was painless. I highly recommend seeking his help as an excellent traditional Chinese medicine practitioner.

My husband was treated here for a herniated disc and they were able to see him on very short notice. The consultation and treatment were really great. Mark listened and took meticulous notes. None of it was rushed. He carefully explained his recommended treatment plan and my husband is so glad he took his recommendations! The location is accessible and facilities are very modern and soothing.
