Bringing the coast closer to you…MARKER 7 is a longtime dream of mine that finally fell into place. Growing up in the Tampa Bay area I loved eating great seafood and relaxing in coastal bars. We are trying to duplicate that here in 5 Points in this great old historical home.

Our oysters come from the Gulf of Mexico and shrimp from the coast of Georgia. Depending on what is in season, we will be offering specials outside the everyday menu that we hope you enjoy. So sit back and relax, let your mind drift off to that little stretch of beach where we all wish we were.

Shrimp are excellent!. I don’t know what the other folks had that gave negative reviews, but if you think the shrimp at Captain D’s can hold a candle to what is served here, you know nothing of good shrimp. The ones I had were fresh, plump, and delicious. Just the right amount of breading and not cooked to death. If you prefer chewy farm raised shrimp that are more batter than crustacean, by all means, Captain D’s is your place. If you want good shrimp done right, Marker 7 is a great place to go.

This restaurant is remarkable for many reasons. It is housed in a renovated house that was truly an eyesore. Now it is a compliment to the 5 Points community. It is remarkable for the coastal cuisine which it serves with panache. I especially recommend the blackened shrimp po’ boy sandwich.

We were a party of 18 and the staff did a wonderful job with orders, explanations and the like. Everyone enjoyed their meals, especially the raw oysters. -enjoy

This place knows their seafood. Everything was cooked perfectly; nothing was overdone or overly greasy even though everything we ordered was fried. The crab soup was incredible, the hushpuppies were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the fries were herbed and delicious. Oh, and the sriracha aioli was to die for. Our server was very friendly and funny as well. We came on a slow, rainy night, so the relatively serene atmosphere might not be representative of what it is generally like when it packed with students, but we had a great time and enjoyed the ambiance. Since the restaurant is a refurbished house-turned-restaurant, it has a naturally homey, welcoming feel. Can’t say enough good things!
