KAMPAI first opened its doors in 1995 with…it’s original location in the upscale and trendy neighborhood of Buckhead. After its much success, KAMPAI relocated to Duluth with a location in the Medlock Bridge neighborhood. Soon KAMPAI emerged as the best japanese sushi & hibach restaurants in the family oriented suburb of Atlanta. The executives chef has been with the KAMAPI family since it’s first opening.

Together KAMPAI Medlock has grown into a sensation offering it’s guests traditional and exotic Japanese cuisine with a dose of modern comfort. KAMPAI Lawrenceville-Snellville is the newest branch opened in early 2010. Using the other branches as inspiration, the new concepts of KAMPAI Lawrenceville-Snellville are ‘the modern fusion’ and ‘a tapas Japanese restaurants’. Especially, It’s sushi and hibach give upgraded pleasure to customers.

With every blue, KAMPAI Lawrenceville-Snellville offers the synergy between an inviting ambiance, mouth-watering food and superior customer service. Always a great meal. Sushi is superb. Waiter or waitress always friendly and helpful with suggestions. Have to try the super volcano or fugi mountain roll. Japanese crab cakes are the best as well.

I eat lunch here about 4 days a week. They catered to my every need. Very attentive and personal. I have my own roll that they have perfected. I love the people there!

What a great sushi and hibachi experience. I was in town and met up with several old friends and this was our go-to spot. From the friendly greeting upon our arrival, to the wonderful ambience, to the stellar hibachi grill tables, everything was awesome. Our server met us with some warm sake and menus and offered a few specials. We ordered another sake bottle and some edamame to start. Next came the entrees. I do not even know how I chose between all the delicacies on the menu.

Our chef met us with the usual BIG flaming fire thing on the hibachi grill that causes your mascara to melt. We asked for extra yum yum sauce–yes, yum yum sauce. It was really yum yum. We started with the calamari for the four of us and I began with tuna tartare that was absolutely divine (yes, I shared). It was served chilled with an egg yolk on top. The miso soup and house salad with ginger dressing was amazing. We had another order of tuna that was absolutely splendid, as if all the other food was not enough. We had fried rice, along side of our entrees. I had the lobster. I was super full and happy when I completed my meal.

Amazing food, the staff is very friendly. During holidays like Mother’s or Father’s Day can be pretty packed but it’s worth the wait. Hibachi is always the way to go and if you’re craving sushi, Fuji mountain is the best!
