We are your favorite spot to grab a delicious meal, where your waitress will know your name, or at the very least, remember what you like to drink. Eat with us, take it home, or let us cater your next event.

We cook the old-fashioned way – with hickory wood and slow. After all, it takes time to convince that smoke to make our meat so tender and delicious. We specialize in smoked meats, and by smoked we mean it – with wood.

No wood chips charred on a gas grill, but big pieces of hickory in a firebox. It’s a lot of work getting those fires going, just ask any of our pit masters on a windy morning. We believe that all of our hard work pays off by satisfying you with the best barbeque around.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve passed this place always wanting to stop and eat here. Finally, after a long day with the kids playing ball nearby, another family convinced us to come here. I have to say… I’m extremely picky about my ribs and BBQ in general. I travel to Texas quite frequently – BBQ capital of the world. My co-workers go out for BBQ at least once a month to the top BBQ joints in the Atlanta area, like The Greater Good and Fat Matt’s. JD’s is right up there with both of these places. You can’t go wrong with the food here, and the service was top notch as well.

Stopped by JD’s Bar-B-Que tonight based on a recommendation from the cold cuts lady at Publix…true story. We made our way to the BBQ joint and from the outside it does look more “authentic”…or I should say, less commercial. We ate inside and the staff was so nice. My husband got the brisket plate and I got the 2 meat sampler and chose ribs and pulled pork. Our sides were fried okra, muligan’s stew & fried corn.

The brisket was primo. The ribs, on point and the sides were great. I smoke my own meats so I know good BBQ when I see/taste it. We just moved from Ohio to Georgia and of the 3 places we’ve tried so far (Bub-A-Que, BBQ Shanty in Kennesaw and JD’s) and hands down, no questions asked the winner by far was JD’s Bar-B-Que. We are definite fans and will absolutely be back.

This was just about as freaking good as it gets! Awesome brisket, fried corn and cole slaw…was to die for. 3,000 calories of awesome culinary delight. I highly recommend it. It was some of the best I have ever had and Jack Stack in KC, MO is about the only place I would rate higher. I will be back.
