Hilltop Grille is a locally-owned steak & seafood restaurant in Athens, Georgia. A favorite of local residents and visitors alike, “Hilltop” is a convenient dining choice and gathering place for those who want to escape the crowds and parking downtown. Hilltop’s pride in serving fresh, flavorful dishes are followed closely by its pride in Georgia Football.

UGA-themed artwork by legendary cartoonist, Jack Davis, is displayed throughout the restaurant and includes a nine-foot-long mural of Uga trampling the other SEC mascots. Says owner and long-time Athens resident, Chris Lloyd, “When you want to people from out of town what Athens is all about, you don’t want to take them to the same franchise restaurant they have back home. Hilltop Grille is truly a place that Athenians can call their own.”

From live music on the patio, to meetings or special events in the private dining room, to catching up with old friends over drinks, Hilltop Grille offers many reasons to stop in and stay for awhile! We are located at 2310 West Broad Street across from the ABC Package. We’re about half way between downtown and the mall. Come and see us!

Recommended by hotel manager, and she was right, food was awesome. My husband loved the gumbo, and the shrimp was delicious. Very clean and managed well.

Outstanding flavors and food choices. I had the crab bisque which was amazing.My meal was the Chilean Sea Bass…. Fantastic! This is a great place with wonderful ambience and friendly staff.

Not sure what has changed, but the Hilltop Grill I went to was much better than the reviews. I was quickly seated, served, with pleasant enjoyable staff. Drinks were quick, soup within a few minutes, and my entree delivered before the soup was done. No wait, and the food was excellent. Yes, a little white space on the plate, but for my money, 4 scallops well cooked and seasoned, sweet potatoes and grits were a good portion. Top it off with the tasty brownie and I certainly did not leave feeling shorted. Definitely a return spot.

We ate there for Sunday Brunch and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. My wife, son, and daughter all ordered the shrimp and grits. Really good grits and the shrimp were good sized and meaty. I ordered the eggs Wellington that was delicious. The petite filet was great with the eggs and sauce. The side items we ordered were fresh fruit and bacon. The fresh fruit was excellent as well as the bacon. We had a really good waiter who was attentive and answered our questions about gluten-free choices. In fact, when he brought my son’s shrimp and grits he brought extra grits for him. Athens doesn’t have a lot of good breakfast choices beyond I-Hop so this place was a breath of fresh air for us. Will definitely return.
