Come enjoy Hibachi Express today for the best Hibachi you can get. Hibachi Express has fresh, hot, fast oriental food at a great price. Hibachi Express recently opened its first Gainesville location at 1872 Thompson Bridge Road, where the old Jet’s Pizza used to be.

“This restaurant was founded in South Georgia, and now we have locations in Valdosta, Albany, Columbus, Milledgeville, Americus, Atlanta and now Gainesville,” said Terry Ho, who helped owner Youda Zhu with the Gainesville location of the franchise. “We also have locations in Alabama.”

Ho, who owns a number of restaurants in the state and several Hibachi Express locations, and is known for Terry Ho’s Yum Yum Sauce, called the restaurant “fast-casual,” offering express Japanese dinners for about $6-10. “It’s hibachi-style cooking, so rice, vegetables and meats,” he said. The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

I was very skeptical about eating here because I didn’t know how it would be. I tried it a couple weeks ago and decided last week to try it again. It’s very good and very reasonably priced. My friends come here all the time and I will probably start coming with them more often.

Excellent no-frills hibachi joint. Food quality, portion size and price are all well above average for this type of place. Combine this with their weekly text specials and loyalty rewards program and the value is unbeatable. The drive through and online ordering make things even more convenient. The only thing that I think would improve this place is a house-made yum yum sauce but the prepackaged stuff they serve is still good. You won’t regret giving this one a try.

Really, really good yakisoba. The steak was super tender and flavorful, the veggies were really delicious, and even the noodles had a ton of flavor. Sesame chicken was quiet good. Fried rice was maybe a little bland, and the egg roll needed a touch more seasoning, but other than these minor gripes, I was really happy with the food! I will very happily be back.

P.S. The food was incredible microwaved the next day. Even the steak was still tender! I… how… ?? Wow!
