I am so pleased with my experience at Gunshow – so pleased I’ve literally been telling everyone I see about it and asking why this concept isn’t used more often in restaurants! We went for a birthday, and for the price point, is more of a special occasion type place, however, we got to try six different dishes, a dessert, and two drinks for a very decent amount.

The atmosphere is very cool, but different, so be prepared for it! The concept is basically that you’re eating in the kitchen, and as such is very loud. It’s a bit of a ruckus and everyone is hustling and bustling, but for me that was part of the charm. I also loved that we were literally sitting at the end of the line, so I could see each item being prepped, coming off the line, and more often than not, being offered directly to us first! By far my favorites were the pork belly and the carpaccio, which just had layers and layers of flavor. The scallop was also perfect, but I won’t go on too much since the menu changes daily based on seasonal offerings. But apparently the banana pudding is always on the menu and as someone who doesn’t like banana pudding, I have to attest to this one. The meringue on top was perfect, and it was hot and yummy and perfect comfort food.

I just adore the concept of the items coming off the line and being offered to you, so you can pick and choose what you want by looking at the dish. Each dish is explained to you by the chef who prepared it and you can accept or wave it off. If you wave it off – it’s unlikely to ever come back, though! So you’re not sitting down and ordering your regular dish off a menu, this is a different concept so be prepared for that. Both of the couples sitting around us apparently missed that memo and basically complained the whole time, not appreciating the amazing food put before them.

Service was very on point – my water glass was never empty, plates were changed out as needed, and I was never without being offered an adult beverage. Also, try one of their mixed cocktails – I tried two and both were exceptional.

There seemed to be ample free parking between the lot behind the complex the restaurant is in, and street parking.
