After 30 years, we are proud to announce that Ezell’s Catfish in Columbus & Phenix City, is back under Ezell family management. I would like to formally introduce myself as the new president & owner, Clark Ezell, alongside my supportive family; wife, Collier Ezell & son, Clark Ezell Jr. I am the grandson of Charles Ezell Jr, the founder of the famous Ezell’s Catfish in Lavaca, Alabama that opened over 80 years ago.

My vision & direction along with experience brings a fresh new approach to food & beverage. Ezell’s is poised to quickly take the dining experience to another level at while maintaining the same quality, home cooking & southern hospitality that made Ezell’s Catfish a Columbus, GA staple. In 2010, I moved to Columbus to open Ezell’s in Phenix City in August of 2011. Recently, I officially took over management & ownership of the Columbus location, following Bryan Christopher who owned & operated the business for over 30 years.

With locations in Phenix City, AL & Columbus, GA, Ezell’s Catfish celebrates heirloom, made-from-scratch recipes through supporting local & regional farmers & fisherman by preparing dishes that capture the simple flavors & tastes of the highest quality ingredients available. Ezell’s Catfish only serves domestic farm-raised catfish from Mississippi & Alabama. This place deserves more than 5 stars! I am from Tennessee, but roots in Louisiana. I just recently moved to the phenix city/ Columbus area due to my husband’s job and I am So glad I found this place! We go to Louisiana two or three times a year to visit family and we always get such good seafood, but this place is just like being in Louisiana again because of how fresh the seafood is and the environment is awesome as well. Food was definitely prepared to order not sitting under a lamp and there’s no way anything was frozen. Dining room was very clean. Staff was friendly and attentive. Thank you Ezell’s for the first enjoyable meal I’ve had since I’ve been here and the first time of me saying I’ll be back… Often!

My husband decided we needed to stop by Ezell’s on our way through Columbus. I am so glad he did. The hostess was pleasant and we were seated promptly. Our waitress was friendly, the food was out to the table in a timely manner. I got the combo plate with shrimp and chicken. I highly recommend!
If you are looking for down home cooking in a friendly atmosphere, stop by Ezell’s!!

Great place for catfish. I always get the grilled but everyone else in my family likes the fried. Shrimp is great too. AND the hushpuppies are out of this world. Love eating there. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Chose Ezell’s because it was close to overnight lodging and had favorable reviews. We were not disappointed. Casual, relaxed atmosphere. Friendly, attentive service. Fast service, with fresh coleslaw and hot hush puppies brought to the table soon after seating. We had whole catfish and fresh grilled salmon. Both were delicious. And the onion rings were outstanding. Very good management!
