John founded Decksouth in 1998 with a single goal: to serve the Atlanta area with unmatched professionalism in the deck/porch building market. That commitment to excellence has led to award-winning projects and national recognition of Decksouth as an industry leader.

Under John’s leadership, Decksouth has expanded to two locations added co-owner Mike Reasons, and earned a reputation for custom designs, quality workmanship and guaranteed satisfaction. Mike joined Decksouth as a co-owner in 2008, bringing with him an extensive background in the building products industry and experience working with a leading deck manufacturer.

He enjoys working with customers during the design and consultation process, utilizing his deep knowledge of the latest products to help homeowners select the right choice for their specific needs and transform their vision into a reality. At Decksouth, we specialize in building high quality decks, porches, and outdoor living spaces that complement and enhance any home or environment.

Decksouth built us a beautiful IPE deck. We purchased a 17′ x 7′ swimspa so we could jump in a small pool and exercise. Since our main level is 15′ above the backyard they built an elevated platform 10′ above our backyard to hold the spa that weighs 20,000 pounds (five cars). They then built the main deck around the spa. A team of true craftsmen worked with the dense and heavy IPE wood (Brazilian walnut) and created a well built and beautiful deck that will be standing for a very long time. We appreciated Marcelino’s, Pablo’s, and Jorge’s attention to detail. They are so talented, hard working, and meticulous – they even sealed the ends of the deck boards after they cut them. Shane, the project manager, was easy to work with and he was responsive to our questions. Mike Reasons, one of the owners, personally oversaw the project. I can not say enough about this company’s quality of work and professionalism. Thank you Mike and Decksouth. We love our new deck!

We could not be happier with our gorgeous new deck and pergola. Decksouth is a quality company in every aspect of their work.
