It was truly an exceptional experience. From the Valet (which was complimentary) to the attention from the hostess and servers were excellent. The ambiance was beautiful and romantic and intimate. We made a reservation to celebrate our five year anniversary, and the menus were designed to say Happy Anniversary. They were gifted to us by the restaurant. We tried the peppercorn encrusted kangaroo, which was delicious. I’m a slightly picky eater but the meat was extremely flavorful throughout every bite. My husband ordered the slow roasted duck and I ordered the wood fired NY strip. We devoured our food feeling truly satisfied. The view outside was just beautiful with the gardens and the river alongside the restaurant. This place makes you fall in love over and over again.

Canoe is a great restaurant. They make you feel welcomed from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Our server for the evening was very knowledgeable of the menu and recommended some very good dishes. The appetizer we selected was the smoked salmon that was very tasty. Entrees consisted of cod & braised rabbit. Each dish was delicious. We even selected a dessert since my bf & I were celebrating our anniversary. Thanks Canoe for making this a special evening for us.

Came here for our 24th Anniversary dinner. We also came here for our 1st Anniversary. In the intervening years, this place has not missed a beat in it’s blend of setting, food and service. Highly recommend just about anything on the menu and, definitely take a seat outdoors and enjoy the incredible setting. Also, a special shout out to our server Carrie who was beyond wonderful!

Loved the food and enjoyed the stay and ambiance. We went to Canoe based on a recommendation. We had a late reservation at 10 pm. They close at 11 pm but we didn’t leave until midnight. The server never rushed us and she was always cordial. She checked on us regularly. I love attentive and cordial servers. I ordered the fish in crawfish sauce. The server asked if I had allergies and I told her what it was. I’m glad she asked because the sauce had to be switched because I was allergic. I felt that was great on the restaurants part, to ensure the server check for allergies. I appreciated it and I will highly recommend eating there. I had a party of four and the food and checks were served correctly. The ambiance is upscale and it is a quiet place by the river. This is a great place for a date, a nice birthday dinner, or girl’s night dinner for professionals.

Beautiful place on the river. It is in a high end residential area, so I wasn’t sure if I was even close until suddenly there it was. I went for brunch and found it to be the perfect place for this type of gathering. Valet parking was the beginning of wonderful service. The menu held many choices. I had the Eggs Benedict, an excellent choice. This place shows off the best of Atlanta.

Fantastic experience – Benjamin, our server rocked! Everyone we encountered was genuinely nice.
The arugula salad was awesome (and I’m not typically a polish-the-salad person, but this, I did). My husband loved his burger, my steak was fantastic and cooked perfectly. Everything tasted great!
Can’t wait to come back and try more!

Incredible. We were seated in a booth overlooking the river. The gardens were beautiful and fun to explore after dinner. The service was beyond anything I have ever experienced. All of the staff–the hostess, the gentleman who walked us to our table, the valet parking drivers, the funny fella who served our bread/poured water–deserve some recognition. Our waitress Tracee was knowledgeable, patient, attentive, and very well-mannered. The smoked salmon appetizer had a sharp, strong flavor that was complemented perfectly by the caper sauce and goat cheese. The rabbit on ravioli was divine. The portions were perfectly sized, but I was still disappointed to see my empty plate after I’d taken my last bite. My friend ordered the salmon and felt the same way about her dish. We finished off the night with a sweet and salty popcorn sundae which our waiters were kind enough to split in half for us. This place has a good reputation for a reason. Canoe is the perfect spot for a special occasion and we will definitely be returning soon.

A family member was coming to town and wanted to go someplace special. I’d heard a lot about canoe but never really had the chance to try it. But Local Atlanta seen TV shows had mention canoe so I thought it was time to give it a try. To start off it’s right on the Chattahoochee which by itself makes it pretty special because there are not many restaurants right on the Chattahoochee. Casual to semi-formal. Not casual like flip-flops and shorts but casual like a polo for casual button-down shirt and a blue jeans will get you by. Or you can make it something more special and get dressed up and you won’t feel out of place.

Absolutely, totally delicious. Our server had impeccable taste and I got everything he recommended. I’m in love with the food, the service, the view, the weather, the parking and the ambiance. This place is absolutely brunch heaven. We had the walnut bread, the Riverside breakfast, the duck burger and finished with the pineapple sorbet (amazing). Our coffee cup was never empty, not was out water anything but full. Truly 5 out of 5 stars. Our waiter was Ron and everyone had a smile for us. Very clean, accommodating and kind eating experience!

We were visiting our brother from out of town and he brought us to Canoe. What a pleasant surprise! The grounds are amazing and every staff person we encountered was thoroughly professional. Our waitress, Cassie, was outstanding. I asked her how long she’s been working there and she said she’d been on the floor for 2 weeks – I would have guessed 5 years at least. She was outstanding; described things clearly, answered our questions, was gracious, patient and accommodating in every way. I had the best steak I have ever had and when they didn’t have the wine I asked for, the barmaid poured something that she thought was the equivalent and it was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Atlanta. Don’t miss it.

What a fantastic experience! The setting is right on the river, so ask for a table by the windows. Great service in this upscale eatery. The cod was one of the best meals I had ever had, lightly breaded with capers over mashed potato’s and green beans or spinach.Yum! We had lunch, so get there early because it fills quickly. A five star experience.

We meet friends once a year in a city and picked Atlanta this year, I found Canoe online as we are not familiar with the area and did not know their brunch is booked a month in advance. We were told we could wait and grab a small table in the bar/lounge area, which is what we did. We were all thrilled that we opted to stay and wait, the food was excellent and our waiter Jared was just fabulous!! He made the entire experience just fantastic, his care of us was remarkable and we had such a wonderful time enjoying the food and time with sweet “old” friends!!! If we are ever in the area again I will certainly make plans to come back!

One of the best restaurants in Atlanta. I loved the warm atmosphere and tucked away feel. From the valet attendant to the manager, service was fantastic. Our server was so experienced and personal, by the end of the evening I thought I had known him for years. The strip steak was one of the best I’d ever had and my wife’s red snapper was fantastic. As an added treat, we had the peanut butter banana pie and didn’t regret a single calorie.

i’ve came both dinner and brunch. personally, i think it’s just better to come during dinner time if you don’t want to feel rushed. i would definitely recommend coming for brunch just to try the pastries. they are too die for. literally melts in your mouth. as for brunch mains. they were good as well. just typical breakfast food. however the chicken grits was so tender. i also had the smoke salmon Benedict which was also good. as for dinner, more items on the menu. very good food. service was good. i would come back again

Valentine’s Day was just incredible at this wonderfully unique dining experience. The outside garden area by the river was so special to walk around. The service and menu were impeccable. Everything we enjoyed was excellent and beautifully prepared. Canoe is truly a unique and charming gem tucked in Atlanta next to the Chattahoochee River. Excellent choice especially for any special, intimate dinner!
