World famous BBQ is found in Athens Georgia at the Barbeque Shack. People come from far and near for BBQ Shack’s BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, and BBQ ribs, stew, but mostly for their homemade warm banana pudding. Dine in or take out at the oldest barbeque restaurant in the Classic City! BBQ Shack is only open on Thursday – Saturday but its usually full on those days.
The barbeque was great Brunswick stew perfect! The service was spot on! Nice friendly and defiantly the best I have had in this area!

Everything there is very tasty and they even have a fun to listen to Bluegrass Jam on Thursday nights! I don’t know what the lady with the bad review is talking about, they only serve brisket on sandwiches and their portions seem perfectly fair to me. And the deserts…home made banana pudding and these delicious home made cakes and pies.

Staff is friendly and welcoming. There are no frills here as far as decor so if you’re looking for fancy go elsewhere. If you’re looking for authentic Q, This is the best BBQ place in Athens.
