Customer Reviews
The most god awful car rental place I’ve ever been to. You never get your car on time even if you’re early. They can’t give estimate on how long it takes to clean a car. And the staff do nothing in terms of customer service to make the situation right with the customer. A very, “it is what it is what attitude”
I don’t feel cared for at all.
Update: I came back to give this Avis another chance. I’m sorely disappointed and actually disgusted. Not only did they rent me a car with bad breaks, when I brought it to them, they told me that I could take it to PepBoys, for service. I was fine with that, they heard sound of the brakes as I was driving off and decided to change their mind. They stopped and took they keys back, which I understand for safety, but then proceeded to tell me that the hold for the next week of my rental would be return. I find out days later that they in-fact charged me. I went back in person to get it resolved and was told that the money would be back on my card by the next Wednesday. Wednesday came, I called and was assured the problem would be taken up post haste and I would receive contact from a manager (never did) but also had the nerve to tell me that it was my fault for taking too long to notice that the money was taken out of my account. My account has been overdrawn twice now with no attempts to make it right. As a person that has been in hospitality and customer services for over & years, I’m disappointed at the staff’s lack of care to not only fix the problem, (which for this second problem they STILL haven’t) but also their lack of effort to make it right for their guest by going an extra mile. I wish I could give less than one star

Got a car on a cheap weekend deal and the car j got def felt cheap. This location doesn’t have as many options as the airport and the staff are nice but you gotta have your stuff together! Can be in and out in a good day. Also being preferred plus really only means something at the airports.

I love the Courtland Avis location and the staff has always been friendly and if you say you had a bad experience there then 9 times out of 10 you was the problem.

How is this place still in business? The customer service was just ludicrous. The employees were so unprofessional that I don’t even know where to begin. It smelled like marijuana when I walked in the door, not to mention that the employees were arguing amongst each other. DO NOT RENT YOUR CAR FROM HERE.

I don’t what these reviews are talking about. The light skin young lady and the other lady were so helpful to me. They got me in and out with great attitudes.

Easy, fast, and hassle-free. All that I look for when renting a car. Very friendly and did what they could to get me a car as soon as they could.

Recently we arrived at the Atlanta airport and made our way over to the Avis rental car counter. The line was insanely long because it was a holiday weekend. Most people were saying it would take an hour. So I had my wife get in line and hold a spot while I went to use the bathroom.
We had my wife’s 90 year old grandmother with us and had asked her to sit by the luggage while my wife got in line and I went to the bathroom. Once I got back, I took my wife’s spot in the line and she made her way back to her grandmother.
Sometime between the time that my wife and I traded positions, a nice gentlemen by the name of Bayoh, had walked by and saw my grandmother in law, saw her waiting with her cane and asked what was wrong. She told him nothing, just that she was waiting for her granddaughter and grandson. I guess he didn’t want her to have to wait by herself, not understanding that my wife was coming right back. I wasn’t in line longer than one minute, when I saw my wife flagging me down. The Avis guy was taking us to a different counter so that we wouldn’t have to keep our grandmother waiting. He took us to the lot and we were checked out, with a car, within about 10 minutes total. It was awesome.
Thank you Avis for appreciating the needs of the elderly and being mindful and respectful of them. This gentlemen also helped a couple of other people that were elderly and disabled. I really appreciate them being on the lookout for people that could use an extra convenience. That speaks volumes to me and will help me to pick Avis, as my rental car company, the next time I need a car.

So far, so good. Sometimes the cars are a bit of a walk, but I’ve liked all the vehicles I’ve received, and not had to “exchange” once yet.

I’ve had pain free rental experiences at this Avis as a Preferred member. If you’re preferred, all you do is just reserve, you get an email the day of w/ your car space, you get to the lot and your name pops up on a sign board screen w the car space as another reminder, you grab your car, show your license to the attendant and go. It’s so easy and w/ friendly service too. It’s pricier than some competitors, but in this case you really get what you pay for and for no hassle service, it’s worth it.

I rented a car from the Avis location in Downtown on Courtland Avenue. The Courtland location did not have a big selection of small SUV’s, so I ended up with a Jeep Compass. The Jeep was not a good car for my family as we would be driving all the way down to Key West, Florida. Since I was going to Florida, I needed to pick up a Transponder so that I could fly through the many tollbooths that Florida has. As I was driving the Jeep, back to the hotel, I decided to go to the airport to try to exchange cars and get a transponder.
I drove in to the car return line, and explained my situation. I was helped by a nice woman named Angela. I told her that the Jeep would not be a good car to drive, and told her that I needed a transponder for tolls in Florida. She agreed with me a offered me a Mitsubishi Outlander. She made a few phone calls and found a transponder for tolls. She sent me to pick up my car, when all of sudden she calls me back and tells me that her co-worker David was on his way to deliver the car to me. Within minutes, David delivers both the car and the Transponder.
I received great customer service from this location. It is unfortunate that the Courtland, and other Avis locations charge less. With airport taxes, the same car costs about $200 more at the airport for a two week rental. The employees know about the extra taxes. It is great that even though you didn’t rent the car from this location, that they are willing to help you regardless of where you rented the car from.
