APEX! COMPUTER RECYCLE is a division of APEX! COMPUTER, INC. It was created after we saw a need to allow companies, organizations and the general public to dispose of their electronic equipment. After careful consideration, APEX COMPUTER RECYCLE was born. Our mission is to allow both the public and private sectors of businesses, and the general public to free themselves from used/old or unwanted electronics.

As we become more dependent on electronic products to make life more convenient, the stockpile of used and obsolete products grows. The National Safety Council1 projects that nearly 250 million computers will become obsolete in the next five years and mobile phones will be discarded at a rate of 130 million per year by 2005. We specialize in the proper disposal of computer parts and units.

These alarming numbers are only to increase as we see new electronic game consoles and telecommunication devices hit the market. Computer monitors and older TV picture tubes contain an average of four pounds of lead and require special handling at the end of their lives. Also, millions of TVs are heading for landfills due to recent digital and high definition technology upgrades.

In addition to lead, electronics can contain chromium, cadmium, mercury, beryllium, nickel, zinc, and brominated flame retardants. When electronics are not disposed of or recycled properly, these toxic materials can present problems. I have to send my XBox 360 to Apex to get it fix, and they did a very good job. I got my XBox back less than 1 week! Good Value and excellent service! Keep up with the great job Apex!

My Xbox 360 was shutting down with two flashing red lights. Google suggested an overheating issue, but it was barely warm, so it looked like it wasn’t just an acute case I’d be able to cure on my own, but a hardware compromise. Unfortunately it was way out of warranty, and it’d be $140+ for Microsoft to fix it (not to mention how long it would take to ship it and wait for them to repair it). After explaining my options (short-term fix vs. long-term fix), the owner fixed it the same day and covered it with a 90 day warranty, which made me pretty happy. All in all, if your Xbox 360 is on the fritz and out of warranty, Apex is your place.

I’m not a big fan of anyone who has a slew of 5 star reviews, simply because I don’t feel that anyone in any business can make that many customers happy, and herein lies the irony, because if I’m being honest, I have no choice but to give Apex Computers a 5 star review.

One day, not so long ago, I went to turn on my ancient Dell laptop and was greeted with…nothing. Not even the blue screen of death. It just simply wouldn’t turn on. Being a recent transplant to GA, I wasn’t sure who to take it to. The only national computer company I knew was Geek Squad and I figured that unless I got audited, I wasn’t going to pay what they wanted to charge me just so I could retrieve 10 years of tax forms and nostalgic photos of when I used to be skinny.

We have used APEX computer several times from fixing a playstation to laptop computers. We have always had great service with an option to buy new or refurb parts. The shop is in a sketchy area (imo) but once you get past that everything is great. Will continue to go back.
